Switched to Satellite, Slow Changing of Channels

Hello,
I recently moved and have to use DirectTV satellite because I am in a remote area. I got BTV to work with my firefly and can change channels, but it takes about 9 seconds to change. I am using a Directtv D100 receiver with a serial cable. When changing channels BTV sorta pauses the current show, then brings up the Blue Info bar for the channel im currently watching, then it switches to the channel I want to go to, then it loads up the new channel. I read that there is some delay in satellite, but 9 seconds seems like a lot.

I searched the board but have not found a fix.
My latency is set to .50.
If I hit enter it does not speed up the channel change.
It is just as slow when using keybord or remote.
Navigating through the BTV menu is pretty quick, its just the channel changing.

Thanks for any help!

Sean
