Help me Build a Cheap HTPC

I think I am going to start from scratch and try to build a cheap HTPC with the sole purpose of running snapstream connected to my TV. Kind of like a tivo but with no subscription fees. I have no idea what is needed and I've never built a pc before so any advice is appreciated. I do already have a valid copy of Windows XP so i will not need to buy that and I have a hauppauge pvr 250 so that is also not needed. Any recommendations would be great. -Rob
