Cannot Add to DVD (Video)

Ok, I searched around but cannot find the answer to this one and I am sure it is something simple.

I just installed yesterday and I recorded a 480p show today and BTV 4.9.1 will not let me add it to DVD as a Video but it will let me burn a Data disc. I did not burn to Data disc yet to see what it becomes.

I thought maybe it was the format I recorded in but my only choice are MPEG2 Transport Stream. I am guess this is the .TS files folks are referring to.

I am sure I can figure out how to do this from one of my other burning tools, but I want to make it simple for the rest of the familiy.

So did I do something wrong or are there other options from within the program I need to check?

Thanks.

Re: Cannot Add to DVD (Video)

You must first use ShowSqueeze to an .AVI or .MPG file before you can record a Video DVD.

Re: Cannot Add to DVD (Video)

Thanks Nick. I need to spend more time with the documentation.

I assumed ShowSqueeze was for files that were too large to fit on a DVD and my file was only 1.5gb.

I appreciate the help.

Re: Cannot Add to DVD (Video)

I have been round and round and I am lost. I have been through Showsqueeze in the application and the web admin and the only options that show for me are:

WMV
DivX
H.264/MPEG4

However in the User Guide it shows a choice of MPEG2 as a Showsqueeze option. What am I missing?

Re: Cannot Add to DVD (Video)

After hours of searching I think the answer is because I have an HDHomerun tuner. I think it is not able to record in any format other than MPEG Transport Stream but I am not sure.

My files come out with a .TP extension instead of .TS as I mistaken mentioned before. So I do not think I can burn DVDs without doing a double conversion in BTV.

Does this sound right?
