I'm not 100% sure about that. When I got my HDTV box it first wouldnt let me watch HDMI until I upgraded my tv's firmware, understandable. But now whenever I switch my tv from a component source to the cable's HDMI source i get a message on the screen from the cable box saying "YPbPr disabled for copy protection". Even though I'm not using component it seems to be shut off anyway.
