longest was 1 hour while away, but regularly record 4+ hour baseball games.
no a/v sync issues (mot71xx boxes, optical 5.1 audio out, playback on sage hd200 network media player, hdpvr each on...

just got back from 2 week vacation and btv recorded every show scheduled, including all 23 that required hdpvr (plus about 8 with hdhr)
when it works, its great.................

in my system, i don't get lockups so the 4 second delay wouldn't help me there...........what i get is 2 seconds of the old channel and get...

i also respectfully disagree..........my 2 hdpvr's are almost rock solid with only
1 lockup in the past couple of months..........and sage folks are not immune to these occasional...

you can't (yet)...........it is a bug report/feature request (bug report opened in january) but nothing has been implemented by btv.........hopefully they
will enter a new beta phase soon, but who...

do you know if they have a 'wait N seconds' parameter before recording?
sage has this and it seems to let the hdpvr settle into its new channel or resolution or whatever............presumably...

working great for a few months
totally screwed up for about a month (then reloaded and reloaded and ...)

the fact that i get sync bounces (locks, unlocks, locks, maybe 2 or 3 times) with btv but never with tme is a big clue.
however, i have had no problems for months now with btv and 2 hdpvr...

actually, not sure btv sees it as an error...........in the log, you get an error about being unable to build graph (or something like that) then it goes and
assigns the task...

one problem is that when the hdpvr hangs, it looks like it is still recording and the inprogress file is still there..................can that type of failure be detected?

there are btv post-processing tools that you can use to set up a batch to run after a recording.........don't remember the name of it off hand though as i haven't used it for years..............i...

i use optical because i want 5.1 audio in my home theater.............reportedly it causes more problems than stereo
i have had a 6+ month period with no problems, then nothing worked for weeks,...
