Re: HD capture through "analog hole"?
Well, with an economy like ours, it's gonna be tough to pay a half a dozen times for the same thing over and over again. I just don't see the advantage of DRM in that regard. I mean, it's nice, but...

Re: ShowSqueezed WMVs look too funny on PS3.
No, these are standard 4:3 recordings. However, since I have my PS3 hooked up via HDMI on my 32" JVC, it seems like instead of displaying at the shows' native 4:3 with the normal letterboxing, it...

ShowSqueezed WMVs look too funny on PS3.
I was attempting to ShowSqueeze a few BTV recordings to WMV, and they looked like they did the job, and went through TVersity okay. However, when they played back on my PS3, they looked all funny,...

Screen is blank under 64-bit Vista BTV
I installed BTV 4.7 under Vista Ultimate x64, and it was set up correctly in the setup wizard, however, when I go to watch TV in BTV under the ViewScape, the TV display is completely blank, even tho...

Re: HD capture through "analog hole"?
You could always grab that DVI-HDMI cable to handshake the video card from your HTPC into an HDTV (hopefully a 1080p, since 720p will interlace a lot on you), that's another way to get BTV and HD...

Re: Apple TV a good BTV extender?
Right, unlike the X360 being an extender for Microsoft's Media Center, there is no official extender for SnapStream and/or BTV as of yet... Also, I'd like to think that with the H.264 addon for...

Re: Vista + IR Blaster
Pfft, yeah... Seems like we'd be best off watching standard cable on a PC if it's gonna wind up being like that... Seems like Microsoft just doesn't want Hauppauge to have the right drivers for...

Re: Beyond TV and QAM
Interesting... I'm wondering if HDHomeRun would be equally as successful with Vista Media Center at all...or if M$ ruled out QAM altogether? I mean, if I'm gonna go through that, I might as well...

Re: Beyond TV and QAM
Probably SnapStream will offer some firmware updates/version updates to bring QAM support up and running for existing licenses? That would be nice. Just better hope that Microsoft will do the same...

Re: Voice of BTV - James Earl Jones
Heh... William Shatner may do better... After all, his spiels are perhaps the best I've heard and saw, especially when he advertised for TiVo or DirecTV, or whoever that was he did TV commercials...

Re: Beyond TV and QAM
Shame that HDHomeRun got BTV support exclusively. Hauppauge's HD Tuners are equally as capable, imho, especially the HVR-1800 which I have (and the upcoming HVR-950 which I am hooking up to my...

Re: Comcast QAM Need to Create lineup?
Well, I already have an HD STB from Cox already, even tho it's on the analog input (wish that Hauppauge would get that component-based tuner rolling already). However, I'm guessing that having...

Re: Comcast QAM Need to Create lineup?
Hmm... I'm gonna have to try BTVExterminator with Cox and my HVR-1800 to see what happens...
I'll try that tomorrow with the QAM setup, and see what I can tell you. I have an OTA HD/Set-Top Box...

I hear that the 80GB Zune has even DVR-MS support, too now. Which is good for Media Center recordings, just so long as you are running either Home Premium or Ultimate Vista. Whether it can do...

I have the same hookup for Vista Media Center as I do for BTV. I have my set-top cable box hooked into analog and RCA Terrestrial HD Antenna in Digital. I set up the TV signals in Vista Media...

Re: HDTV in-the-clear over analog cable
Right, I know that HD HomeRun does QAM, but on the hardware end, the HVR-1600/1800 is known for this also with WinTV 6 application. Thought that this would support BTV as well.

Re: HDTV in-the-clear over analog cable
Glad that BTV supports it with third-party plugins. However, I still don't know what Vista doesn't want to support it with its own Media Center? Oh, is it because Microsoft is a fan of DRM all of...
