Re: New BTV Option: Per File Defragmentation?

agreed with the problem, cannen. And the drives are high performance so I didn't notice at first. It wasn't until I was trying to watch multiple HD streams via link that I even noticed. The network...

Re: New BTV Option: Per File Defragmentation?

I have 6 tuners (2 hd for QAM) and if I have all 3 TVs watching a program at the same time, the drive must have very few fragments for the HD to be smooth. Perhaps I should consider an external raid...

Re: Pvr-tv Pe210

I didn't get this because it was software encoding :(

Seemed to good to be true. I loved that it was PCI-E as well.

Re: New BTV Option: Per File Defragmentation?

I use PerfectDisk and it works fine for automated defragging, but it was just an idea. It would not be hard to set up, and I think it would be a good thing for BTV to clean up after itself. I only...

New BTV Option: Per File Defragmentation?

We do something similar like this at work when we push media, so I thought I would see if there was a reason SnapStream couldn't make this an option:

Why can't there be a toggleable option that...

Re: Pvr-tv Pe210

In case anyone is wondering, Fry's is selling these for 79.99 which I thought was a great price for a dual tuner.

Re: Pvr-tv Pe210

I think I will pick one up and give it a try. I can return it if it is a no-go. I like the whole PCI-E part.

Pvr-tv Pe210

Has anyone played with this card? It is a dual Analog PCI-E x1 card that is interesting. I can't seem to find anywhere whether it has hardware mpeg2 however. Can anyone figure that part out? If it...

Re: Dual-Core: one post process job?

Honestly I agree with this. I want only one of my CPUs to do post-processing jobs as well. It makes it very difficult to watch HD shows on other machines and this machine at the same time when i am...

Weird. I will take a look when I get home and post the syntax. It will be a few hours though.

Re: FolderSettings.xml syntax

When you mean secondary, what do you mean? You want to move recordings there once they have been recorded to your main video folder? What error are you getting in web admin??

Re: where is keep until option

The reason they don't have it globally is because it needs to remove old shows to make space if your drive fills up. If it had no space, would you rather have it stop recording instead?

Re: Some HDHR QAM Questions...

I got lucky and I have the 3 HBO (not HD) channels in the clear at the moment. I hope they don't realize they messed up any time soon.

Re: Some HDHR QAM Questions...

QAM. Why are the file sizes so drastically different then. Could the bitrate be varying that much between channels?

I think so, but I guess the question is how would someone do this, wouldn't they need to modify the source from silicondust?

Also, does anyone know if there are any plans for a...

Re: PLEASE HELP Playback of recorded show is in fast motion with no sound

Why would you change it to MPEG Good and then lower the bitrate? Why not just record in full MPEG2 quality, and the compress it using showsqueeze?
