Question I need help pricing old computer parts

Guys, I now selling isn't allowed on this forum and I am not trying to do that. But I have some leftovers that I want to put on craigslist or ebay and need a little help pricing.

17" LCD monitor, approx three years old, black, it's a BENQ FP731. Works fine. What do you think $50. More? Less? I wanna try and put them up before monday (the day everyone go back to work and checks their email and the weekly sales

Logitect MX700 wireless duo? I thik. Three years old. Still works great, freshly cleaned, blownout etc.. Upgraded because it only has about a 6 ft range. Was about $100 when I bought it. $30 is what I am thinking. Think that's too steep?

Last one. As seen in another post I am moving to the new ATI HDCP-HDMI card and I will be posting an EVGA Ge6200LE 256 MB vid card. My big question on this one is, I want to sell the purevideo decoder software withit. I don't see why I can't seems perfectly legal to me. Its mine, I paid $20 far and square, I won't be using it anymore so it only seems right that I get to pass it off to the next guy. I am thinking $40 for this one.

I have no idea if used computer parts hold any value at all. I just don't to let them just sit. Because I dont think a I need a link box. TIA.

eBay. Start at 1 cent. See how high it goes.

Re: I need help pricing old computer parts

Can't really comment on the items other than the LCD monitor.

Interesting note on the BENQ LCD you described, if memory serves me
that model is a great candidate for stripping down and making a Home Theater
Projector. All you end up needing is a frez lenz, bulb, tempered glass and projector lens. You can search the web for details.

Even if you don't want to do this yourself - you may be able to get a good price on one of those related forums... Just an idea.

As for the other items, just put them on eBay with an opening bid of what you want - if they don't sell that way...relist them with the 0.01 opening.

Best of luck.

You might want to check the licence agreement for the software. You don't buy the software any more, you buy the right to run the software.

Re: I need help pricing old computer parts

honestly, on older stuff i have, i usually donate, not worth the hassle to sell for like $10 or something, I rather give it to charity and they might be able to use it...

Schools, non-profit orgs, daycare centres, less fortunate families, etc.

This is absolutely NOT TRUE!
Even if it says on the disk, in the software, and in the printed documentation that you cannot transfer ownership of the software, it doesn't matter. You own it if you bought it legitimately, and you can sell it to whomever you like perfectly legally. You must uninstall any of the software you have installed, and refrain from using any backup copies, but that's it.
Now, the original software seller is under no obligation to render support for a resold product, but if the product works, that shouldn't be a big deal.
Also, if the original software seller put copy protection schemes into the software, it may be difficult or impossible to reinstall it on another machine.
The moral of the story, don't buy copy protected software without obtaining the means to legally reload it.
This is why I always build my own computers and purchase WindowsXP direct from Microsoft. When you buy a built machine with preloaded WindowsXP, you don't get a disk which will allow you to reload XP on another computer if that machine dies. The full or upgrade version of XP you buy separate from the computer has the key to allow you to transfer the OS to a second machine if the original dies.
Now, I understand that Vista may not allow this, but if I run into that situation, I will raise holy hell with Microsoft. If enough of us do likewise, they'll have to accomodate us. They can't tie up their support centers in India for hours on end with disgruntled customers, they'll cave.

I've upgraded enough times that the auto-register never works any more and I have to call 'em up. They always ask if the software is installed on another machine, I always say no, they always give me the auth code.
