"Interesting annoyance I've noticed. I've looked at upgrading my BTV machine to windows 7 but haven't because BTV does not use EVR, which enables hardware acceleration for H.264 files (HD PVR). There's a second annoyance that may be a deal breaker. Windows 7 and Vista both limit audio output to one device, so I can't have audio go simultaneously through HDMI, Spdif(external), and analog like I do with XP. I have HDMI to my tv, SPDIF to my Yamaha surround sound, and analog to my Yamaha Zone 2 (which only takes analog inputs). If I use Windows 7 only one will work at a time. Nice job m$, break more things."

I know this post is old but there is a cheap device at monoprice to copy the audio off of HDMI and push it out to analog and spdif.
