Re: Boxee iPhone remote!

Looks sweet!
Just loaded it on my iTouch.

I won't have a chance to reboot my HTPCs into OSX to test it on Boxee until tomorrow though.

Re: Boxee iPhone remote!

Holy **** this thing is cool!

Actually makes for one of the best remotes I've ever used, if not the best! Takes all of a couple minutes to get the hang of it, and it's beautifully responsive. I can control everything in Boxee, even scrub precisely through movies, with nothing else but my thumb! Pretty amazing.

Man, I wish the BTV folks would get on making a BTV iTouch/iPhone remote app for BTV that works like this, because this kind of thing is the future. If not for BTV controlling my sat. recordings, there's very little left I'd ever boot back into Windows for.

Re: Boxee iPhone remote!

i just wish we would see programs and ideas like this from BTV, it seems like they try but never quite hit the moon with any of their little add-ons

Re: Boxee iPhone remote!

Yeah, it blows my mind that an open source startup like Boxee can make stuff that works this freakin' good, and is this innovative... but an established company with commercial software and hardware products can't/wont?

Ah well. I guess it's when you're not as established that you're hungry and make the truly innovative stuff.

Re: Boxee iPhone remote!

I bought this for $24. It works pretty good, but still needs to be configured a little more. Only problem is you have to look at it when pushing the buttons, I plan on getting another Ipod Touch skin and punching or melting holes where the keys are so I can work it by "feel" in landscape mode.

Re: Boxee iPhone remote!

The gesture mode on this thing looks very cool. The stupid thing on another post is from Rakesh saying "What could you do with an IPhone app to do with remote control?" Back in February I believe he wanted our opinion of the Boxee. Maybe he needs some glasses because I don't think he's seeing the potential of what can be done or even how to consider it in front of him. With SS.net he can take it even one step further and link to the internet...time to look "Beyond" the four walls at the Snapstream national headquarters.
