Want a Water Cooling Solution

Suggestions Please.

I currently have a M-Station HT-1100 (Silverstone)...a cooling NIGHTMARE. I considered taking a dremel to the case and installing some 120mm fans...but I decided not to.

Instead, I bought a Lian-Li PC-C30I Black. It is bigger and seems that it would have better air flow. I am also excited about the larger exhaust ports it has. My HT-1100 has 2x60mm at the rear, while the PC-C30I has 2x80mm.

Now in the past, I've seen some Micro Rads, like 2x80mm and it might work. And then I saw a press release from Sept. 2006 from CoolIT for a HTPC Liquid Cooling solution.

But I can't find it anywhere to buy it.

Does anyone have a water cooled HTPC? and if so, what is your solution?

Re: Want a Water Cooling Solution

My PC (not the PVR) is a water-cooled case from Koolance. I don't really care for it. The radiator fans are too noisy. It's now several years old, so not sure what noise-levels current water-cooled PCs offer.

Re: Want a Water Cooling Solution

watercooling will always be louder due to the fact that the radiators always need fans and then you have the pump to keep in mind.

doesnt seem like the best idea for an HTPC

Re: Want a Water Cooling Solution

blaze you have no idea what you are talking about...i run a watercooled desktop and it is completely silent. it has a2x120 rad with 2 120mm Yate Loons that run at 1500RPM and you can't here them at all, then the pump is completely silent too. water cooling is definitely quieter than running several fans and heatsinks.

i just need to know what works with a HTPC case. there's not a lot of room in there.

Re: Want a Water Cooling Solution

If your water cooled system is making noise.... then you did it wrong.

My HTPC is not water cooled but my newer main computer is. Has been for awhile. I have this
::: Zalman, RESERATOR 1 :::

Looks like its been discontinued and replaced with better stuff.

Mine is completely silent. It cools my CPU and the GPU on the Vid card. It has no fans. Just a pump in the base of the external tower. A pump I can't hear at all.

Its has done its job perfectly well for the last couple years now.

edit.
ah. never noticed the same guy who posted the pic is the same one who posted the question. Ya. Not much room in mine either. I'm looking at moving my HTPC to another room. I just have not gotten around to it yet. I know my water system would never fit in my HTPC. The tubes need room to bend without kinking off. But I've not looked lately to see what can be done. I wonder if there are hard plastic fittings that could be used that are narrower that may make for a much smaller room requirement. Again, I've not looked at it. Let us know what you find.

Re: Want a Water Cooling Solution

I was just reading some other reviews and water cooling related stuff. and it looks like the cooling is even better then what I have. (not that I've had any problems)

also.
I linked o the wrong one. but it looks the same. I have either the

RESERATOR 1 V2
or
RESERATOR 1 Plus

All 3 look the same. they just have different water blocks from what I can see. I'll have to check when I get home.

The only downside of the one I have is that I have to it turn it on/off separately from the computer. I see the RESERATOR 2 took care of that a couple years ago with a wire that plugs into the internal power of the PC to turn on/off the pump automatically with the PC power.

In the years I've had it. I forgot to turn it on once. I forget the exact time but it was 25-35 minutes until the PC shut itself off due to heat. No damage. all was good. At least I know the bios auto protection stuff works.

Re: Want a Water Cooling Solution

I had mine setup completely passively cooled for a while, but when I added a raid card and extra disks I had to put some fans in to keep air moving. With the right fans, it is difficult to hear the computer.
