Connection understaning needed

Hello All,

Someone told me they have a XLS connection, I found this: http://www.crownaudio.com/amp_htm/xlsspec.htm

To me this is a powered output but what kind of connection is XLS?

If they are using nothing but XLS connections powered and pre-powered, is there a way to covert to RCA?

OR is XLS a brand name like MONSTER?

Re: Connection understaning needed

XLR is just another connector type that you often see in live audio or pro recording setups. It's the round 3-pin type of connector you may have seen on microphone cables.

There are ways to convert XLR to RCA, but it's not the best way to go. XLR speaker/line inputs/outputs are typically balanced connections, and RCA is unbalanced. Balanced=less noise and generally better performance.

But in this case he is talking about XLS. From what I see the XLS is referring to a model number series. Which from the pictures has XLR jacks. The items in question seem to be more of a dual channel PA type device. Something used in sound systems in a commercial environment like DJ or church sound systems etc.
