Thinking of writing a HTPC-style Flickr browser

I just set up Slickr (the Flickr screensaver) on my HTPC and it is magnificent. I have it set to pull from my Favorites list, but it can pull from different flickr sources as well.

Anyway, I looked at the Flickr API and thought it would be pretty cool and probably pretty easy to write a Flickr browser that looked nice (ie: a lot like Beyond TV & Media).

Anyone know of such a thing before I start? Think there would be much interest in it?

Some ideas I had:
- Visually function a lot like slickr (zooming, panning, fading)
- All the menus would be an overlay over the slide show
- Nothing must remain static on screen for too long (avoid burn-in). Ie: no "Flickr" logo in the corner or anything

I would be interested in a Flickr plugin. I'm surprised there's been no other responses on this. Anyone else out there have any interest?

OK looks pretty good and with the added features you mentioned it could be quite nice too have as a front end. Sort of like webshots with menus if I am not mistaken.

Ahawks,
Any luck with writing a plugin for flickr? By the way, how did you set up slickr to work with Beyond Media? I'm thinking of doing the same.
Thanks!
Brent

Re: Thinking of writing a HTPC-style Flickr browser

I wonder if this plugin written for XP and MCE would work with Beyond Media?

Still hoping for a flickr plugin some day
