FF remote

Is it me or are these FF rf remotes Junk???? My second one just gave up and quit working. If I hold it next to the antenna wire it may or may not work. New batteries made no difference. Does anyone know what happens to them when they quit like this? Is there a fix for this with these symptoms?

Wayne

Re: FF remote

I gave up on the RF remote long ago. I would have to wave it back and forth sometimes from no farther than 10 ft from the receiver before it would pick up. I bought the Firefly mini and have had absolutely no trouble with it at all. It's a line of sight remote (like most others) but it works without fail. I'm on at least my 3rd year with the mini and also bought one for my BTV Link.

When I bought the last mini, I bought another Link license and got the remote free...but for me it was the other way around. I just looked and they're still offering a free remote with a Link purchase. If nothing else, you can get an extra link license for the future. Just a thought

Re: FF remote

I am starting to second geuss these remotes as well. I am starting to have trouble with my remote in BYTV, yet no other applications. Meedio works fine as I can tell. Yet when I have to use the remote often for surfing channels and jumping commercials the remote gives out, and I have to wave the remote around to get it to work......looks like I might be buying a logitech remote after all...

Re: FF remote

FWIW I just built a new PC to replace mySS machine and had serious range issues all of a sudden, tried re-installing, everything. Then I moved the reciever and bang, It worked great. Something about the new PC was causing RF interference where the old one didnt.

Ive had my FF for many years now and I love it. I pipe my SS to every TV in the house and use the FF everywhere. I have it controlling medio as well. Currently trying to figure out the best way to get it to power on/off my tv and speakers.
