Re: XBMC for Windows

How did you get it to work with xbmc, Can you send me your profile? What's the name of the profile?

I can't seem to get it to pick up the xbmc profile.

Thanks

Thank for the profile, now it's working great, now I don't have to reconfigure the default profile.

Question Re: XBMC for Windows

Hi guys,

Thanks for the XBMC profile. Lifesaver! I'm a n00b to XBMC on windows and the firefly remote (and profiles).

I do have a problem though. The Stop, play, pause, rewind etc... buttons don't do anything. I just hear the default sound that happens when you press a button and nothing happens. ??

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Cool Re: XBMC for Windows

OK. Got it working.

I don't know why, but I had to load Coosmac's profile into the profile editor, then save it again as a new file. ?? Anyway, all working perfectly now. Playing with customisation!

Thanks Coosmac!

Can you launch live TV from XBMC. I rather use XBMC instead of the poc software that came w/ firefly.

I been playing w/ it on my Ubuntu box, but want to put this of my BTV box.

thanks

Re: XBMC for Windows

I am a TOTAL Newbie at this stuff...I just want a better Media center program then Beyond TV.It is so slow and freezes a lot.

I downloaded the XBMC , then downloaded the firefly profile and I think I loaded it into the correct folder but my firefly remote control only works to go up and down and select stuff, the play/pause/stop buttons and everything else doesnt work.

Anyone give me detailed instructions on HOW to get this remote to work?

I know nothing about scipts or programming BTW lol

I have my old HDTV Projection TV hooked up to my computer by DVI cable, and I cant get the screen to center, its always off a little, hidden on the top or bottom.

thanks

Re: XBMC for Windows

I have a streamzap remote, and XBMC is the first program that didnt just automatically work with the remote by itself (besides the mouse/keyboard emulation method).

I dunno if firefly is the same, but for me to get it my remote to work with xbmc I had to install a program called eventghost. The annoying thing is for eventghost to work I have to close the streamzap program... and then nothing else works with the remote besides xmbc.

One day I hope to figure it out so I dont have to use eventghost (or figure out how to make eventghost work with everything else), but spent enough time just getting it to work in the first place.

Re: XBMC for Windows

I figured it out with some help on here.

But its a confusing program..if you are a nebie and dont know anything about code or scripts or programing...

I cant even figure put how to make it so it has thumbnails....

none of my video or music files show up for thumbnails like in Itunes.

Re: XBMC for Windows

So nothing was really said about how to actually get the Firefly Mini to work. Could somebody please help me out? I installed XBMC on my computer and would like my Firefly to work like my xbox remote did on my xbox... which I sadly don't have anymore.

Re: XBMC for Windows

Go here download xbmc.xml

Put file in here C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SnapStream\Firefly\Profiles or for mini it might be \mini-firefly\profiles?

Should work...

Re: XBMC for Windows

Another way if you can not get that to work, is to download lm remote and setup profiles for xbmc and btv. Mine works pretty well, but I am having some problems getting the focus to switch

Re: XBMC for Windows

XBMC has just about replaced my BM. I even got it working with a touch of a button on the firefly and can exit XBMC. Hmmmmmm love the eye candy...and talk about smooth functioning.

It is a shame..I could see BM lookin just like XBMC.
