Re: XBMC for Windows

Is the cpu overhead usage of XBMC reduced with the latest version? I tried it a couple of months ago, prior version, and the overhead was prohibitive on my intentionally lower powered Link box. Switched to Media Portal but it doesn't run right on XP SP2. I can upgrade to SP3 but don't want to introduce any issues, so I'd be willing to try XBMC again. Thanks.

I noticed this as well system, seems to run at 50% cpu when in use. doesn"t bother me too much as I only have XBMC on for a couple of hours an evening maybe. But it is rather high imo.

Re: XBMC for Windows

I believe another version was just released which might fix things.

Re: XBMC for Windows

How does one go about mapping the Firefly Media Buttons ( Music Photos DVD Video) to the proper sections of XBMC?
I don't see any options in the firefly GUI setup options that let me choose XBMC for any of these.

Does one update the
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SnapStream\Firefly\Profiles\Global.xml
file to fix this?

Thanks

Re: XBMC for Windows

Here is what I did:

I updated my global.xml file to map all buttons except DVD and TV to XBMC
Works like a charm

The only thing you have to be careful of is to pause or stop whatever you are playing in XBMC before switching back to BTV.

See attachment, which goes here:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SnapStream\Firefly\Profiles\Global.xml

What's still missing for me is that you can't seem to map the buttons so sub-sections of XBMC, only to the main page.
There are no other commandline switches for XBMC other than -f -p, so there's no way to send it directly to the Pictures area for photos, etc.
Any suggestions on how to improve this?

Re: XBMC for Windows

I accept with information: XBMC is the first program that didnt just automatically work with the remote by itself (besides the mouse/keyboard emulation method).
