Yes, you are correct. After donating, I'll create an account for you. However, I'm doing this manually (that way I always know if there is a problem when trying to reach you via e-mail and I can promptly try to resolve the issue). So there is a slight delay after your donation before your receive an e-mail from me (But in all case you'll receive a reply within 24 hours, if it's not the case : check your junk e-mail folder, check the e-mail address used with Paypal and contact me through my web site : there is a mailing form for support and this you are sure that those messages will reach me).

In your case, I processed your donation 20mn ago.

Regards,
Stéphane.

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)

I am using LM Gestion with Firefly and BeyondTV but having trouble with navigating up and down on menu and channel selection. Firefly jumps two lines at a time and cannot select the proper selection.

Also, button A does not bring up the TV Programming guide and when assigning keyboard or application assignments to any key, the default Beyond Media fuction also launches and gets in the way.

I like it's capabilities but it doesn't seem to work properly. I am using version 1.9.

Also, can LM Gestion be used with USB-UIRT with setting up multi-zones for running two kinds of sat. tuners? I don't want to use Girder.

Someone please guide me with correcting any of these problems!

It seems that you are still running Beyond Media Basic. It's fine to have it installed but you have to shut it down and prevent it from running when your PC restart. You can also uninstall it and install the Firefly drivers only (you can get them on my web site).

The default profile is very basic, so the "A" button isn't mapped to anything. You have to create (or download) a BTV profile to really configure the remote as you want (Note : in a profile you just have to configure the buttons that either doesn't do anything for an application or that doesn't do what you want).

And for the "default Beyond Media function are also triggerd", this is because Beyond Media Basic is still running.

I just received a USB-UIRT and will create something for it. But I can't tell you when it will be available (neither if it will be included into LM Remote KeyMap or if I will make another software or do both).

Stéphane.

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)

Thanks for you possitive feeback Stephane.

If I disable Beyond Media, what command do I need to assign to a remote key to launch BeyondTV?

It would be great if I can get multi-zones to work with my tuners to change channels correctly. Let me know if you need my help with testing it!

If you disable Beyond Media Basic, you just have to choose a button on your remote the "TV" one seems appropriate, but you can use the "Firefly" button if you wish (Note : that if you use the "TV" button to launch BTV, you can very well give another function to this button when BTV is launched)

Then add a "LaunchApplication" action to this button and browse your disk for BTVD3DShell.exe and this will launch BTV viewscape.

I'm sorry it will take months for me to release the software (of course I will propose something for changing channels on STB through BTV) because there is a lot of work to do:

* Handling the USB-UIRT device : that's the easy part
* Creating easy interface for creating remotes to emulate : learning / characteristics etc..
* Creating interfaces for remote tuning (BTV, SageTV...)
* Glue all this together to have a "all in one" IR control center.

Regards,
Stéphane.

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)

Hi Stephane, I just got around to trying the Control t using the key down key up commands, but I don't see how to do multiple ones. You had told me to do:
key down control
key down t
key up control
key up t
I just don't see how to do more than one of these. I looked at the instructions on the LM Remote webiste but didn't see anything, please help!

Under a button node in the tree you can add more than one actions (just right click on the button node and select "Add Action"). The actions are fired from top to bottom. So you just add the actions in the order you want them to execute (for Ctrl+T : add them as I listed them)

Stéphane.

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)

Thanks for developing this great software Stephane! The LM Remote Keymap leaves a much smaller footprint and leaves more of my small amount of RAM free. I just donated and was wondering if you're accepting feature requests for your program.

It might be difficult, but it would be terrific if you could make your application portable (able to run without installation off a thumb drive). Ideally, you'd be able to plugin the remote and drive, run your program, and have remote support for any computer you want instantly, but I'm not sure how this could be done with so many drivers involved. Might it be possible to load drivers during the launch of the program?

Thanks again!

Unfortunately it is not possible, even if you exclude the remote drivers of the equation, the application is still depedent of the .Net Framework and the way it works.

So the only solution would be to pack on the USB key :

* The .Net Framework 1.1
* The remote driver if needed (MCE / Firefly Mini doesn't need one)
* LM Remote KeyMap installer
* Your settings and profiles xml file (in the c:\doc & settings\all users\app. data\LM Gestion\LM Remote KeyMap)

This way you have a complete kit for installing what's required.

Regards,
Stéphane.

That was pretty much the answer I expected. By the way, the acceleration of mouse mode makes it work great. Better than the one for BMB (I have the Firefly remote).

One suggestion for the Nav Mode: Could you put in keys for Page Up and Page Down, or at least allow us to map extra keys in that mode? I'd also like to map the shortcuts for browse forward (Alt+Right) and backward (Alt+Left) into that mode.

Thanks!

All the autonomouse "Modes" cannot be customized for now. However I'll see what I can do for adding the shortcuts you want. I may not be able to put them all as these modes must work with the most common layout (that is the buttons that can be found on all remotes)

Anyway you can always create your own exclusive mode. Just create a profile (choose whatever windows title / class name) and select the shortcuts you want. Then in the default profile choose a button to put your remote into this mode : you can do this by using the "ChangeProfile" action. And don't forget to use the "ChangeProfile" action back to the default profile on the button to exit your mode (that is on the "Exit" button)

Regards,
Stéphane.

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)

Creating my own "Nav Mode" in a new profile works like a charm. It does everything yours does and also allows me to add the buttons I need. It was just a bit tricky to get Alt+Tab to work properly. There isn't an action for showing OSD that I could find so I just made a MultiPress action with the letter I wanted so it would give me visual feedback that I had activated the mode.

Thanks for your great support, Stephane! I'm really looking forward to your USB-UIRT software.

That's why I created Nav Mode in the first place

You can do that or use the "DisplayMenu" action. The "DisplayMenu" expects that you'll create menu entries (so they will be displayed) and you can put under each menu entries all the actions you want.

But "Multipress" is Ok for the job too. I guess I will add a "DisplayOSD" action that could be useful too.

Regards,
Stéphane.

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)

Hi Stephane, I just noticed that you use Power DVD 7. I have Power DVD 7 Delux, and I have not managed to get it set up very well with my Firefly. My main complaint is the fast forward and rewind buttons do screen step forward and back. That's really not what I want the buttons to do. I know there is a speed feature that lets you zip forward and back, but I have not been able to figure out some hot keys for it. What have you done with yours? Another issue is when I am watching a one track DVD and hit the previous track button nothing happens, but it would be nice if it just started the track again. Hey I may be dreamin' but it would be nice. I set up my itunes with the key down key up solution you gave me. It seems like I have to hold the button down for a while to make the visualizer turn off. I don't see why this would be (it works very quickly with the keyboard), but when I just press it and wait nothing happens. Also when I hit them music button, itunes comes on but does it does not always come all the way to the front so the itunes profile buttons work. Hmmm, sorry to hit you up with my problems but thanks for being so helpful! sc
