Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)
I just bought a Firefly mini and was wondering if anyones has posted any working media center profiles for vista. If they have and it works i would more than willing to donate and use your software. I dont like the mce controllers and I prefer to use vista's mce
. the way life goes i guess.Thnx, Rumast18 |

Hello,

Anyway, it's not that difficult to create a profile. Though I think that with Vista you must use the "PressKey" / "KeyUp" / "KeyDown" actions instead of the simpler "Keystroke" action. Regards, Stéphane.

After that take a few minutes to read the documentation of the software on my web site and you'll see it is not difficult to create a profile: * Creating a profile is just clicking on the "+" button to load a blank "New Profile" * Edit this new profile, give it a name (Media Center) and specify the windows tile or class name or executable name of Vista Media Center (for my software to be able to recognize that Media Center is currently running) * Then customize each buttons that doesn't work with Media Center. If you need to send a keyboard shortcut the "PressKey" / "KeyDown" and "KeyUp" actions is what you should use. Regards, Stéphane.

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)
I am trying to get my firefly remote to disable/enable my secondary monitor(my tv upstairs). I currently have ultramon running in the taskbar and have assinged hotkeys to change monitors that I use without bringing ultramon in view, I just enter the keystoke ctrl+Z and it enables my secondary monitor. I have tried doing this with your program but can't seen to get it to work. If there is a way then it is the program for me.
Thanks

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)
It is funny how you can go away from the computer for awhile and come back to the problem you figure it out right away.Anyhow I have added the ctrl+Z to button A in the default folder and it works like a charm.
Great software I will be making that donation for sure

Note that if you are enabling / disabling your monitor only to use a specific application you can very well put the "Ctrl+Z" keyboard shortuct with the action to launch that application (instead of dedicating a button for it). So let's say you want to disable your monitor before launching BTV you will for instance in the default profile for the "TV" button : * add the actions for "Ctrl+Z" (you can use "keyStrokes" or a combination of "KeyDown" / "KeyUp" actions) * add a "Pause" action (just to be sure that the monitor is really disabled) * add a "LaunchApplication" action to launch BTV Regards, Stéphane.

Wow what a great idea. I never really thought about adding several tasks to one button. This will make things way easier to do and the rest of the family will like that.

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)
Hey, I hate to be a problem child, but I have a problem. I have been trying to get LM Remote to turn on (and off) the visualizer on my itunes. It's Control T. When I hit it on my keyboard it works. I assigned it to my Firefly button as ^t for my itunes profile and it didn't work, then I also assigned it to my default profile, I tried ^T and ^t and nothing worked. It's a minor thing but my girlfriend loves the visualizer, and I love to be THE MAN and sit back on the couch and make it happen. Please help and maybe I can be THE MAN all over again! (now which button was it that made the bed vibrate?) Thanks sc

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)
I donated via PayPal and I was hoping to get the login I need to download remote profiles for BTV, BM etc. I was hoping it would allow me to avoid manually setting the buttons up for those applications. Hopefully I will just need to set up the PowerDVD buttons.
Am I correct in thinking this? Or should I just start setting the buttons up?

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)
This software is really cool by the way for those of you currently using the firefly driver that comes with Beyond Media Basic. It takes up far less memory and is very customizable.
If you like it drop $10+ to Stephane for his hard work. Well worth it!

Hello,
Quote:
In your case, you'll have to add these actions to one of your Firefly button: * KeyDown / Control * KeyDown / T * KeyUp / T * KeyUp / Control And it should do the trick. Regards, Stéphane.
