Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)
Ok, I got it to work, but with Eventghost.. Couldn't get it to work with LMRKM
![]() Here is what I had to do. 1) install the Receiver and install the updated driver 6432-239 from X10's website 2) Follow the instructions on the Eventghost website: X10 Remotes - EventGhost Wiki 3) install and setup Eventghost. Life was good... No issues with remote and still responding properly. Note: the LM Remote Keymap service was still running, so I stopped it and disabled it at startup (wouldn't be a problem if it was not installed). Note2: If anyone wants the Eventghost Config file I used, let me know and I can email it to you or post it here if there is interest..I even got the Mouse Mode setup in there and added a key to turn on a batch file that runs a timer and then puts the PC to sleep. With Multitap I can tell it to set the "Sleep Timer" with 30, 60 or 90 minute delay. Note3: Every 3rd wakeup from remote will wake it up, then go back to sleep again. Next power on the Media Center program will not be running but the scheduler service will be still running. N3M3515 |

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)
Looks like the "X10 Hid Device" added by the new driver is the one interpretting and causing actions from the remote.
As soon as I did the process listed above in step 2 (from the eventghost Wiki site) it no longer performed any actions when buttons were pressed, but the Resume from S3 function remained. If I open the control panel applet, it still shows the key presses are received by the computer, but the lack of the X10 Hid Device driver causes the OS to not respond to the actions from it. Therefore it is resonable to predict that that driver is what is acting as the "3rd party Application. N3M3515 |

I have not tested it but, messing with the driver should not be necessary at all, only disabling it through the registry. I don't know if you still want to use my software or not, but I'll issue an update that will make the Firefly work even if you don't use the Snapstream drivers. Regards, Stéphane.

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)
Sorry, I guess I should have been clearer...
It was late when I wrote that... what I did was install the new driver from X10. It installed the ACPI compliant driver in USB devices and the X10 Hid Device under HID Devices. I removed the X10 Hid Device using the process listed on the website link. There is no Uninstall Driver option when right clicking the Hid Device. I did NOT install the driver also listed on that web page. So basically, I only had remaining the X10 ACPI Compliant driver and nothing else. To me, that says the Hid Device is the one creating the events based on button pressed and the ACPI driver is the one allowing the remote wakeup and passing the button pressed actions to the PC but with no HID Device driver I am free to use what ever 3rd party application to process the actions to those key presses. Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)
ok have a problem.
Using my firefly remote with LM Remote software, all i want to do is replicate keyboard keystrokes The reason being is that I set 2 profiles in ATI CCC 9.7 driver one for 1920x1080 @ 24hz (for ISO BR playback) 1920x1080 @ 60hz (for Beyond TV & DVD playback) In ATI CCC I set the profiles to have hotkeys 24hz hotkey is (alt B) 60hz hotkey is (alt T) On my keyboard if i press Alt B/T it will switch refresh rate imidiatly. I set the A button on to keystroke %B for 24hz and the B button to %T for 60hz. In the defaut edit. Nothing will get it to work. What am i doing wrong? BTW this is the donation edition |

Re: New Firefly, Firefly Mini and Streamzap Sofware
Hi Stéphane!
I have a quick question - if I want to move my LM Remote settings from one computer to another - what files/registry settings should I move? Thanks! B. |
