You have to either:

* Run the donwloaded installer for your current installed version and choose "Repair"
* Use system restore to recover what's missing (it may not be possible if you have installed your current version a long time ago)

Stéphane.

Replay and Skip not working with MCE remote

Hi Stephane et al,
I'm a long time user of LMRKM, and everything worked great with my original firefly. I recently switched to a Logitech Harmony emulating an MCE remote and the stop/replay/skip buttons just will not work in BTV. I've tried everything including pulling out my hair. Is there something simple that I'm missing? My native media mappings ie. play/pause etc. work and I've made some custom mappings for other functions work ie. backspace for end-of-buffer etc. I've mapped stop/replay/skip to keystrokes s/,/. respectively without success. Any idea what I need to do to fix this? BTW these keys aren't mapping on the actual MCE remote as well as the Harmony. These functions work fine with a keyboard.
Thanks.
Steve.

I don't remember exactly what should be the keyboard shortcuts for these function, you can however download an already made profile from the online DB.

Also, something you should be aware of is that BTV doesn't expect a specific char (for instance ".") but instead a specific keycode. So if your keyboard doesn't have an English layout, then "." may very well be ";" instead....

Also use the LM RKM Live Trace Viewer to see if LM RKM is doing what he is supposed to.

Regards,
Stéphane.

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)

Does anyone know the correct key to map to get VLC to close fully?? Every time I want to close VLC player with my remote....I just can't, the key maps wont work. When I use the default "exit" button, VLC closes yet the process still runs and I can hear the audio from the dvd I was playing still going on. I have not been able to successfully map "ctrl" + Q to get the application to quit with the remote. Any advice?

Sorry Ctrl+X was for the old version, Ctrl+Q is for the new one. If Ctrl+Q works with the keyboard, it should also works when mapped to a remote button, be sure though that you don't experience this issue.

Regard,
Stéphane.

I can't make LMRKM understand the commands stop, replay and skip for MCE remote. The trace viewer shows 7 lines of data for most remote buttons and acknowledges the button name ie. PLAY or REWIND. For the problem buttons, the trace viewer shows 1 line only: HID with 39 numbers after it.

Those buttons do not work in any application including WMP.

What could be the problem here?

Thanks,

Steve.

You'll have to use another MCE Harmony device, the one you are using don't seem to use the "regular" codes for these buttons (I also use a Harmony with a MCE Receiver and these buttons are working)

The HID message you are seeing are the codes being used, the LM RKM Live Trace Viewer must state that the MCE code is not recognized. What are these codes (you can set the Trace Level to "Verbose" with the LM RKM taskbar notification so that theses codes get dumped into the log file and send it to me)

Regards,
Stéphane.

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)

Hey all.
Just found this program and it's GREAT!!!
I only have one issue with it..
It has to use an older driver version for the receiver that does NOT allow resume from sleep.
X10.com DOES have a new driver that WILL resume from suspend (s3)..
WaHoo!!!
However, the LMRKM program no longer sees the Firefly Remote.
There must be SOME sort of programming built into the new driver because it does function,
mostly, but some of the buttons are messed up. i.e. Firefly button = Mute, Skip Fwd and Replay are same as FF and REW.
When logging in LMRKM, no input is seen from the remote.

Any possibility the program could be setup to use the new driver???

BTW, this is on a Win 7 PC running 7MC.

Is this the x10drivers_6432_239.exe driver?

This is not surprising, when the driver used isn't the Snapstream one (well the driver isn't the issue, it's the X10 COM Server that is. On Vista, you can use the Vista provided driver, but you must use the Snapstream X10 COM Server) the remote shouldn't even be seen by LM RKM...

I don't understand, do you mean LM RKM doesn't see anything at all? You mean Firefly does Mute even without any third party software?

Regards,
Stéphane.

Yes, I was speaking of the 6432-239 drivers. If I use that driver, even with out any 3rd party software loaded (LMRKM/Firefly/EventGhost) it will still do a mute.
I actually found a "Wireless Remote Setup" in Control Panel that will let you chose the channel the remote is using. If you load the driver, go to the CPL applet and watch the bottom of that window, it will tell you what command it is actually sending, i.e. FF button = mute, B = the normal green button (app shows it as "Start"), etc.
Looks like most of it is there, just not associated to the right button.
I saw TV/Music/Video/Play/Stop/Pause, etc.
Again, this is without any software loaded or installed.
LMRKM does not see anything at all. Even set it for the specific channel the remote was using (channel 9 in my case) and still no logging activity.

Now here's a twist.. I unpluged the receiver, moved it to a different port, and it used the "X10 wireless receiver (ACPI compliant)" driver (the 6432-239 one) instead of the "Snapstream Firefly" one (old one) and LMRKM program still worked. However, PC would wake up from S3, but then go right back to sleep. Other than that everything worked fine.
Logging activity even worked.

Is it possible to just use the X10 COM server with the new driver?
Can you get just the X10 COM server?? What are the file names to look for??

Usually you just install again the Snapstream drivers with the remote unplugged. This way the driver will not be installed, only the X10 COM Server.

Though, I'm not sure this will solve anything for resume / standby. My best guess is that it's Windows 7 that allow wake up from S3 with the FF remote. I don't have a strong experience on 7 but I have noticed that (on the first public beta) all my USB devices (Mouse / MCE Receiver / USB-UIRT) were waking up the PC instantly after standby (unless "allow this device to wake up..." was unchecked)

Regards,
Stéphane.

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)

I was thinking it was Win7 also, except that with the original FF drivers and the drivers linked on your website do not allow wakeup.
Only the new driver from X10 allows wakeup.

When i set it up with Eventghost, it worked as expected except it was sending double commands (one from the driver, one from Eventghost).
But I know that is not yor product and don't expect you would have an answer for that one. Just an interesting side note..
Now if there was just a way to block the COM+ event from the driver so it will ignore that one and just use the eventghost one.............
