Not currently. What is the remote you are using?

Thanks for the reply. I'm using a MX-900 universal remote in an RF-only mode talking to a MRF-350 receiver that then redistributes the signal via individual IR emitters to the various system components. In the case of the PC, a USB-UIRT picks up the IR.

When you stop and think about it, it is quite easy to segregate commands into those that you do want to be able to repeat and those that you never want to repeat. The problem I have found is that when I get the timing to my liking for up/down scrolling through a list, the other keys, like MENU or EXIT or ENTER that I really do not want to repeat can get rather touchy. The problem gets worse when the wife trys to use the system because she has different expectations and touch on the controls. Please consider this a wish-list request item.

I'll try to add a "do not repeat" feature for the USB-UIRT Virtual remote.

However, you should be able to content the WAF with a high value for repeat delay and the value of your liking for the repeat rate (though sometimes the key may repeats without respecting the repeat delay if you just press them multiple times instead of continueously, the problem being => I only get a "press" but not a "release" event... so it was a nightmare to design the repeat delay / rate feature in the first place )

Regards,
Stéphane.

Wow! That was quick!

It works great

I've went through and disabled repeats on 90+% of the buttons (perhaps default should be disabled and an action is required to enable) and tweaked the timing of the repeats for the remaining ones and it makes for a more satisfying experience.

Thank you.

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)

Stephane,
Thank you very, very, much for all the work you've recently done with me offline to add support for the nMediaPC remote in your LM RKM software, I really do appreciate it! It's working very well for me in BTV, I already uploaded a profile last night, and now I'm moving on to configuring profiles for XBMC and PowerDVD. I think this app provides an enormous amount of flexibility for configuring things to run using the remote.

One observation on the "enable customization of the Ok key"... with the default profile from a fresh install and this setting selected, pressing OK, Windows, or any color button will behave as an "Alt-Enter", meaning the active window toggles between maximized and normal, while the trace viewer records them as sending their default profile settings. With it unselected, WIndows button still does the Alt-Enter behavior, OK becomes "Enter" which is exactly what I want, but now the color keys can't be reprogrammed. This is no big deal, everything else works perfectly.

Thank You again!!!

I cannot reproduce this behavior. I don't have a nMediaPC remote, so I test the intended behavior with a regular keyboard (nMediaPC remote is only sending regular keyboard shortcuts for most of its buttons).

The "Enable Ok..." option when not selected will disable most of the remote buttons in the default profile. However, the "Windows" button should behave as Alt+Win+Enter (this is what the remote is sending and LM RKM is not doing anything when "Enable Ok..." is disabled, granted it choose to use the default profile)

If you want to further review this issue, I'll need verbose logs.

Regards,
Stéphane.

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)

Is there any way that BTV can share the USB-UIRT with LM RKM?
BTV needs to use it in its transmit mode to control cable boxes channels.

I have found that either the "LM Remote Keymap Blaster" service is running and LM RKM works and BTV cannot access the IR transmitters or else the service is stopped and LM RKM does not work and the cable boxes can have their channels changed by BTV.

No. This is a limitation of the USB-UIRT driver. That's why LM RKM features a Beyond TV channel change plugin. You can use it to change channels on the set box in BTV (BTV use the plugin that use the LM RKM Blaster Service that use the USB-UIRT)

OK, one more thing to setup...

Does LM RKM support the three IR zones that the USB-UIRT provides? My setup uses Zones 1 & 2 from the rear 1/8" stereo phone plug connector.

Thanks

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)

Stephane,
Thanks! Just installed your new April release and I can now program the 4 color buttons to do a Launch Application function with my nMediaPC remote, it's exactly what I needed.

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)

I just bought a Vista MCE remote to use on my Vista Ultimate system. My system uses Windows Media Center for music, photos, DVD, etc, and Beyond TV Link for TV watching.

How do I disable Vista from seeing the Vista MCE remote and using its functions to control the system, rather than letting LM Remote have full control of the remote?

I don't understand. If you disable the native functions of the remote, how the system will respond to the remote events if you don't use LM RKM?

Once you have disabled the native mappings (by using the "Exclusive use..." and eventually "Disable native..." LM RKM options, most of the buttons will be inoperant (Start, Guide, Live TV, Enter, Arrows, Number buttons...), so you have to use a third party software that will "restore" the functions of these buttons the system (or other applications that do support the MCE remote native mappings) doesn't see anymore...(some software may still see them though)

Regards,
Stéphane.

Thanks! I just missed the Setup Remote options for that remote.

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)

Stéphane,
Trying to upgrade to donator's 5.0 and I got a message that the installer could not find the .msi file to uninstall the previous version. Also had the same problem when I tried to uninstall from the Windows XP control panel. I assume there is something amiss in my Windows setup but otherwise LM works fine. I did a search to see if I could browse to the missing .msi and had no luck. Is there an elegant way around this so that I can install 5.0?

Thanks
