Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)

What is the difference in the MediaPlayPause, MediaPlay, and MediaPause comands from a programming standpoint. In CQC, there is a keymap for Play/Pause but not for the Play and Pause commands. He says there isn't seperate commands for Play and Pause...but I've seen seperate keys on different keyboads and in your program. I'm sure if I told the developer the difference, he could add the keymappings for Play and Pause in CQC.

Thanks

Those are WM_APPCOMMAND messages, three different messages.

He's right: on a keyboard there is only a "MediaPlayPause" key. Usually the "MediaPlayPause" key is sending a WM_APPCOMMAND / MediaPlayPause message.

So if CQC is only able to listen to keypress, "MediaPlayPause" is the only media key regarding "Play" and "Pause" that can be captured. If CQC can listen to WM_APPCOMMAND message it will see the "MediaPlay" and "MediaPause" message.

Stéphane.

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)

I have reformated my machine and loaded the software again for version 3.2

I just noticed that when running BTV in fullscreen mode that when I press any of the firefly remote buttons, I can see the (start button) task bar of XP and the icon tray (& clock bar) flashing over my full screen view of BTV. It is kind of annoying to see the task bar flashing on and off everytime I press the remote.

Is this normal? Can I turn this off?

I beleive that this will stop if you customize task bar notification and choose to "Hide Always" the LM Remote KeyMap icon.

Stéphane.

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)

I'm having some problems with Firefly Mini and Vista Ultimate x64 and wonder if this software would solve those problems.

The skip, replay, volume, & guide buttons don't function in BTV. The guide button launches outlook calender. The volume button controls the main system volume, not BTV's volume.

Yes it may help you. Allthough, I believe that this behavior is due to a keyboard software. (usually Logitech software).

Allthough if you want to try my software, you'll need to ask me a 64bits compatible version at lmgestion@hotmail.com (the free 3.2 version on my site doesn't work with 64 bits OS)

Regards,
Stéphane.

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)

Love the product. Donated today.

I'm trying to get Itunes fully configured. Having some issues with 'pause' (using FF Mini remote). Any of the options I try (spacebar, mediapause), it seems to pause and un-pause quickly, so it ends up with just a hestiation in the music vs an actual pause. All other keys work as expected with I program them, so I don't think its other mapping software.

I really think something else is responding to the button. To verify this, simply assig a "None" action to the "Pause" button in the Itune profile and see if that clear things up (either it will work and then Itune or a keyboard driver is relaying the button press, either it will not work at all)

Stéphane.

'None' did the trick. So in a situation like that, Itunes is intercepting the command? Just trying to understand the process.

The Firefly Mini (or MCE Remote) is part keyboard, part HID device. The buttons that are like keyboard keys can be completely captured by my softare, but the other buttons can not be exclusively captured, so any software can listen to them. In your case, it may be Itune (but I bet on a keyboard software: MS Intellitype or Logitech Set Point)

Regards,
Stéphane.

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)

Anyone found a key sequence that will move the focus in iTunes to the list of songs? I can't seem to find a good sequence to get the songs highlighted after initially opening iTunes. Once I'm there, I can navigate just fine. I know I can go to full screen cover flow, but I'd like to have the abilit to browse by file in the regular window.

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)

Sorry, figured that one out. Didn't realize a couple of tabs get you over there (just not initially highlighted).

LaunchApp
Pause 10000 (depending on how long it takes to open itunes)
Tab
Pause 500
Tab

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)

Hi,
I'm trying to set this software up to allow me to jump from BeyondTV back to meedio by pressing the firefly button rather than through the exit BTV viewscape. I would like to leave BTV in the background so it doesn't have to load each time I select it from meedio. I've tried variuos things but don't seem to be getting anywhere. Any ideas?

Cheers,
Jon.

A simple solution would be to add a "LaunchApplication" action to the Firefly button in the BTV profile, and launch Meedio. This should work if Meedio is designed to gain focus if already launched (instead of launching another Meedio process).

Otherwise, you can still in the BTV profile, add a "FindWindow" action to search for the Meedio window, then use a "AppActivate" action, to switch to meedio.

Regards,
Stéphane.

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)

Once again I would like to say I love this program.

Have a quick question though and sorry if it was answered already.

I just installed a NAS Server and I plan on putting all my DVD's in ISO format. That was I can just select the Iso file which automounts onto a virtual drive which then auto play in Vista MC.

I like the Vista WMC but it will not let me view the ISO folders on my NAS.

All I would like to do it use the LM remote to set my "A" button to open my NAS drive folder that I have mapped.
That way I can scroll through the movies (have pic art in folder too) and select the one to play all without using my wireless mouse.

Is this possible. If not I will probaly try out JRiver Media center. I know that front end will work doing this.

Also, Is their an onlune manual for this software?
