Hi,
I just downloaded your app and installed it. I'm basically only running Beyond TV 4.7.1. Was I supposed to uninstall the FireFly package? Since I just moved back to BTV from GBPVR and recently installed BTV, I do notice that I also have FireFly Mini, do/can I uninstall this? Not even sure where that came from, perhaps BTV installed it. If I uninstall the FireFly package, what do I select within the BTV Setup Wizard (running it a lot lately as I get my HDHomeRuns setup properly) for the remote (the wizard does sync licensing)...? Was it best for me to uninstall the FireFly Package, uninstall FireFly Mini driver/app (unless required by BTV 4.7.1???), install the FireFly Driver from your website and then your keymapper? Lastly, is there a BTV Specific Profile available for your keymapper? Thanks in advance! Last edited by turbe; 10-06-2007 at 02:39 PM. |

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)
Hello,
For the Firefly and/or Firefly Mini you can either: * uninstall the Firefly software (see remarks below) * or prevent the Firefly software from starting (recommended : this way you can always swithc back without efforts) If you do want to uninstall the Firefly software and you are using a Firefly (RF), you need to remove Beyond Media Basic, but install the Firefly drivers. If you use the Firefly Mini, you can remove the Firefly Mini software (it only allows the Firefly button customization) and do not need to install a driver. [QUOTE)Since I just moved back to BTV from GBPVR and recently installed BTV, I do notice that I also have FireFly Mini, do/can I uninstall this?
BTV install this even though you don't have a Firefly Mini, you can unistall it (especially if you don't have a Firefly Mini). You do not need to select a remote, just tell the Wizard you will not use any remote. The best (simplest) way is to : * remove Beyond Media Basic from the startup folder in your start menu * install my application This way you are all set (You may have troubles with the Firefly Drivers only package especially on Vista). Yes, more than one. Regards, Stéphane.
Hmm, BMB is not in XP's startup folder (or all users'), I'll check around [EDIT] nvm on this, it's in the BMB Settings [EDIT].. I now see to get access to profiles, we must donate.. is that any amount? ;} Last edited by turbe; 10-06-2007 at 05:05 PM. |

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)
Wow I just installed this software a couple of days ago and got it working last night very easily. First of all, thanks for the software....if I can get the remaining issues ironed out I will gladly make a donation. My only remaining issue that I can think of at the moment is that I need a shortcut to maximize the window while in BTV. The keyboard shortcut for this is Alt+Enter. In the keystroke field I cannot enter two things, and same thing for the "Press Key" field. Is there a solution anyone can think of for this?

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)
Here's an odd issue I've seen with my new re-install. With BTV 4.7.1 and your software I cannot lower the volume. If I press the volume down, nothing happens. However, if I press volume up and then volume down the volume will go down. It only happens in BTV.

Hello,
Quote:
* KeyDown / LeftMenu (this is the left "Alt" key, but you can choose RightMenu) * KeyDown / Return * KeyUp / Return * KeyUp / LeftMenu or you can use the "Keystroke" action with "%{ENTER}" (without the quotes). The first method is however recommended (the "Keystroke" action may not always work) Regards, Stéphane.

[QUOTE=rugby;267979I cannot lower the volume. If I press the volume down, nothing happens. I have not yet fixed this typo (been very busy adding IR Blaster support for version 3.0, soon to be out )Regards, Stéphane.

So using the keystroke action, the % symbol basically acts like the & symbol in SQL?

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)
Stephane (and slomo) - I noticed that a long time ago in my profiles (took a bit to figure it out)
Stephane is 100% correct - it's just a typo and if you change it to {SUBTRACT}, it works perfectly! By the way, Stephane - THIS IS A GREAT PIECE OF SOFTWARE! I have all kinds of things programmed to the various other buttons (like the A, B, C, D) to do other shortcuts such as "go back to live TV". Take a look at Brent Evans Blog with the Beyond Media and Beyond TV keyboard shortcuts... find some that you need and us the LM Keymap to make your firefly do what YOU want it to do! http://brentevans.blogspot.com/2007/...-keyboard.html Ever back up to see something you missed then want to go back to LIVE TV without using "skip" "skip" "skip" Just program one of your remote keys to send {F6} through Stephane's LM Keymap

Re: New Firefly Sofware (works also for Streamzap)
StephaneM
I am trying to remap the back skip button and the forward skip button and have downloaded your software. I think I have figured out the commands I need. I am using the .period for fwd skip 30 sec and the , comma for rev skip 7 sec. the problem is I want to map these down to the bottom 2 buttons on the firefly mini and move the ffw and rew buttons up to the prev and next buttons. I can make it work if I put . and , in the prev and next buttons, but when I put them into the rew and fwd buttons it acts like I have 2 different commands trying to do the same thing. It will jump and also ffw. I have uninstalled the firefly mini from the add & remove programs. I have uninstalled bytv link and reinstalled. It did not give me an option for the mini remote. It looked like it went ahead and installed it because I went back into add and remove and took it out again. With the firefly mini software removed and your software turned off, the remote still controls my link machine as if it still has software on it. How do I know if the firefly mini software has been removed?
