Firefly with Meedio Essentials
How do I configure FireFly to work with Meedio? After installing Meedio, I went to Firefly settings page, but Meedio wasn listed there.
FireFly does kind of work with Meedio, but there are a few quirks here and there. Also, I'd love to assign the media buttons to launch Meedio. I remember vaguely about creating custom profiles. But, if there's a plug-in out there already...

Re: Firefly with Meedio Essentials
Thanks! But, this doesn't reall do much except assigning Meedio to the FireFly button. I was hoping for something more complete. Such as the Photos button poiting to the photos module of Meedio etc.

Re: Firefly with Meedio Essentials
If Meedio has command line args you can edit your global profile (global.xml). That's where we keep the firefly buttons and media buttons (Photos, music, etc.) I'll look into it.

Re: Firefly with Meedio Essentials
The following will allow you to jump to My Music, but only providing Meedio is already open, which for a htpc is usually the case. Open in the background is fine. It's pretty much the same procedure for My Music or any other module.
Open the Meedio Configuration App. Select the "My Music" module, or if prefer to jump straight to one of the sub-parts of My Music, select that. On the right where it says "Jump target name", type a name eg. music. Now, go to the "Input" tab. In the "Commands" tab (inside the "Input" tab), click "Add". Enter a name for the command eg. MUSIC. With the new "MUSIC" command highlighted, click "Jump target". Select the jump target name you entered previously eg. music. Now, with the new command still highlighted. click "Learn". Press a key, (one that isn't used by any of the other commands) eg. F7. Now, click Learn again. Now that should be it for Meedio, just have to set up the Firefly profile. Edit the Global.xml profile and add the following <Actions Button="Music" Description="Meedio Music"> <SwitchAppAction ActivationState="Down" Executable="C:\Program Files\Meedio\Meedio Essentials\Meedio.exe" State="RESTORE" IfAlreadyShowing="MINIMIZE"> <Identifier ClassName="TScreenForm" WindowText="Meedio" FileName="" ClassNameComparer="Contains" WindowTextComparer="Contains" FileNameComparer="CaseInsensitiveContains" /> </SwitchAppAction> <KeyAction Keys="{f7}" ActivationState="DownRepeat"/> </Actions> Now you can do the same for any other module. In the profile you obviously just have to change the button and keys accordingly. Try that and see if it's ok. I don't believe there is a way to call a jump target as a command line argument at present which would make it easy to start up Meedio and jump straight to a module. The above will work though if Meedio is open providing that if the application that currently has focus doesn't already have the media buttons mapped to something else, like the actual Meedio profile. You can now also edit the Meedio profile and change the keys for the media buttons to just one keystroke now eg F7, instead of the 5 or so keystrokes that are currently in place in the Meedio profile from the Meedio website. Also, a list Meedio executable parameters is available here. |

Re: Firefly with Meedio Essentials
There is no profile that comes with FF that maps anything to any of the media buttons, so you should be safe. Nice job grum.

Re: Firefly with Meedio Essentials
So I talked to the Meedio guys, and they are going to add jump buttons for their screens so we can just map to those buttons in future releases of Meedio.
