Is it also a universal or learning IR remote so you can do things like order a PPV movie?

I'm trying to take a look at the buttons there, but is there a dedicated button for bringing up the programming guide when watching live tv or do you have to use one of the programmable buttons for that feature?

it's an RF remote so it won't work with USB-UIRT, but there is a plug-in for girder that will make it be something you can use with GIRDER. Firefly will not not have any IR or universal learning capabilities, it's only designed to talk to the PC the Firefly receiver is installed on.

Thats one good looking remote and I've been looking for one. Maybe I'll wait.

RF is a huge plus, woohoo! Currently I have my Hauppauge silver remote using a 30ft. extension to get the receiver to my living room TV.

The only problem I seen from one of the latest previous posts is that is has no IR capability...which means it won't be able to control the On/Off of my JVC television, nor the functions of my standalone DVD player. Or can it? At least be able to turn my TV on or off...currently thats the only reason I have two remotes laying around.

Oh yea, and programmable to be able to send macros to order PPV movies without bringing up the DirecTV guide and usings its remote....???

Looks very interesting. But I'd like to know more details. What are specific advantages over other remotes? This X10 model, for example, is both a IR and RF, and would appear to let you manipulate Musicmatch, etc. http://www.hometheatercomputer.net/remote_purchase.html
Why would Firefly be a better choice?
