key binding problems (Firefly, Vista x64, default driver)

So I'm trying to get my firefly to work in my new vista ultimate x64 PVR, using MCE as the software.

The remote is recognized, and mostly works, but the key bindings are annoying (the X puts the computer to sleep, next/back don't work properly etc...)

I've looked at girder (didn't recognize the remote), and eventGhost (recognized, but couldn't change the default events, just add to them)

So my question is this. Where the heck do I change or disable the default key bindings for the x10 remote driver/firefly remote? I'd love to be able to use event ghost to setup the remote bindings manually, but even if I have to edit some ini or config file I'm happy to do that.

Thanks in advance for any help.

PC Specs:
Dell Vostro 420
Vista Ultimate x64
Snapstream Firefly Remote using the default drivers (tried the x10 remote 64 bit drivers, which appear to be the same thing included in vista)

Hi Kraig,

When I encountered a virus with my laptop before a friend of mine referred me to supportrix its a 24/ 7th tech support service that handles all computer problems. They were able to fix the problem in no time. try checking them out at supportrix. com or call 1-866-437-6418.

Nope, besides the spam comment above nothing came out of it. I was never completely happy with the remote/software in the first place, so I'm not really surprised.

I'm going to a harmony remote with a USB IR receiver. Should make my PVR experience a lot better

You'll find in Vista Control Panel (in Hardware and Sounds) a new Wireless remote settings. In this control pannel applet you can change the channel of the remote. So pick a channel that is not the one used by your remote and this will disable the native mapping you don't like.

Then you can use whatever third party software to change the remote behavior (Girder, EventGhost, Intelliremote or my software: see signature)

Regards,
Stéphane.
