Firefly Profile for PowerDVD 7.3

I have Cyberlink PowerDVD 7.3 to play my Blu-ray and HD DVD discs (on a LG GGC-H20LK drive) and I can't seem to get the PowerDVD to work with my Firefly remote.

I looked everywhere and at the Firefly profile tutorial page, but it's too advanced for me to understand, let alone make changes.

Does someone have a copy of their Firefly profile that works with their version of PowerDVD 7.3 that I can get a copy of? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Re: Firefly Profile for PowerDVD 7.3

You do not need to build a profile from scratch. While slightly technical, you can fairly easily fix the PowerDVD profile to work correctly with the tools provided with the Firefly software. Cyberlink does a bad thing with each update of PowerDVD - even simple patches. They change the internal Windows ID and often slightly change the text string on the window border at the top left. This is how the Firefly knows which profile to use. The two Firefly tools you need are in the same folder as the other Firefly stuff. There is a profile editor and an application identifier. You use the application identifier to tell you the Windows code and text string you need for the profile editor by activating it and clicking inside PowerDVD while it's opened. You would load any old PowerDVD profile and change the Window code and identifier to match what the tool says. Then save as a new PowerDVD73 profile. It's worth learning how as I've had to do this at least five times with each PowerDVD update. Cyberlink never changes the button codes.

Bye.

Re: Firefly Profile for PowerDVD 7.3

I know about the identifier and the editor. I do only see one 'PowerDVD-CyberLink-4.0.xml' file and did use the identifier to change the 'ClassName' to the right 'ATL' code, but it still doesn't work. I don't know what the top part of the file is correct or not and what 'KeyAction' to use to what command.
