How to wake up from S3 by firefly MINI?

Hi all,

Any one has any luch using MINI to wake up WinXP from S3 (sleep / standby) mode.

I have GA 945p pro mb with P4-D (dual core)

I, along with others, have had absolutely no luck getting this to work.

does it mean that firefly mini USB IR receiver can't wake up system?

Unfortunately, that looks like the case. (the USB receiver preventing or not awakening from standby) I've looked and looked haven't found a solution either. The only conclusion I've come to is that you can go into standby but the receiver can't wake it up OR the receiver will keep it from entering standby at all; this seems to be the case with a lot of USB devices where they are constantly sending/receiving information to/from the computer.

You didn't happen to read the latest issue of Maximum PC did you?

Yes, I did
That's why I tried it again thinking maybe, just maybe it has been solved already

From Micro$oft tech support I got that PowerManagement isn't supported for multicore CPU
and then that it's supported for VIIV with WinXP Media only ...
Looks like just another way to force ppl to buy MS Media s/w
