radio -> mp3

I think it would be cool if you could schedule recording of radio to MP3 format(assuming the user has the appropriate card).

That way I could record my favorite radio shows too!

That would be great, also to be able to grade audio streams from the net to MP3 for play back later would rock!

I don't know about net streams, I mean that would be cool, but I don't know if that's where they're going right now with SnapStream.

However - the radio is directly built into my TV card... As far as I can tell it's basically a different audio source (like the different video sources - Svideo, composite, coax).

Are their any plans to add this?
TV shows will be on re-run, but radio shows rarely do that

Aren't there other programs out there that can do that? I don't really know of any but I think Snapstream should stick with video and not radio. There are so many radio cards out there that it would be a programmer's nightmare. I don't think that there is a standard on how to interface with a Radio card. How many universal radio card programs are out there anyways? Usually the program that came with the card is the one that you use am I correct? I think that hauppauge has it so that you can record the radio to mp3 or wav but don't quote me on that.

they do have a program to record it, but there's no way to schedule recording from fm that i know of. plus even if there were, you're definitely going to run into conflicts with two scheduling programs being used to access the tv card.

how about this - can snapstream have a list of programs to run before and after a particular recording item? and maybe a list of programs to close?

then i could make a program to open a radio program. then is there a way I could use the null tuner to prevent snapstream from screwing with the radio, but yet still allow it to record from "line in"?

this feature could also be used to close any tv programs (already a problem as it is with snapstream because sometimes snapstream tries to record and i left the tv program open).

maybe this is getting too complicated. it sounded simple enough at first...
