All Dish Network receivers have IR. Some in addition to IR have UHF. I have the Dish System and I got the IR200 and am working on setting it up. So far it has been easy. I will put my config up as soon as I am done with it.

Technically not all Dish Network receivers support IR. For example, the 4000 model definately only supports UHF. It means you can't use those receivers with things like TiVO either without modification to the unit.

Hmmm, well much of the internet community would dispute your claim and I've personally had zero success getting either one of my 4000 units to work with a pure IR signal... Both of my 4700 units work just fine IR, but my 2 4000 units only work UHF. Perhaps you are telling me I have 2 defective 4000 units?
