Re: BTV Media Edit

tmar89 --
I have noticed the effects of an overly long description as well and will make a change to truncate it so it doesn't push out the actors. I will look into your other problem as well.

dk96m --
Can you provide more info on what you are trying to do and what your settings are? I am going to try to get some documentation done eventually, but it is not a priority at the moment.

Re: BTV Media Edit

My plugin allows users to scan their recorded BTV shows and do a reverse lookup into theTVdb to supplement the EPG metadata, in case the EPG doesnt have decent data. Would this be valuable code for you too?

Re: BTV Media Edit

The program wasn't designed to modify recordings made by BTV. It looks for media that starts with the show name and has the season/episode or air date in the form S01E01, 1x01, 2001.01.13, or 01.13.2001 after that. Supplementing the data for BTV recordings with info from thetvdb could be done as tmar89 suggested, but there is no plan to include this functionality at the moment (I could be convinced to work on it if enough people wanted it).

Re: BTV Media Edit

Posted a new version. Changes include truncating movie description to prevent actors list from being pushed off screen, fixed problem with failure to scan large media libraries, and added parsing of BTV recording files.

WARNING: If you choose your BTV recordings folder in the "Media Folders" list box, the guide data for a show will be replaced with data from TheTVDb.

So you can search BTV recorded show metadata from TheTVDb.org now?

Yes, but it will automatically replace the information originally there. There is no way to selectively edit specific data.

Ok, before I try this, I want to be absolutely sure. If I add my Recorded Shows folder to the list and hit Scan, it will automatically edit my shows without my input?

So the Scan button automatically will update data? Or do I have to hit the Update button too? I get confused with this.

Re: BTV Media Edit

I found a bug:
When using the Movie Editor, if it comes up on a movie that it can't find, it will search forever, but then I can edit the title and search and it finds a movie. Then the next movie it locks up and processes forever without allowing me to do anything.

I went from "Final Fantasy VII Advent Children (dubbed).avi" to "The Final Season.avi"

Re: BTV Media Edit

"Scan" queries the library and adds anything it finds to the Series Map (and looks up the series IDs if the checkbox for that option is checked). "Update" actually gets the information from TheTVDb and updates the metadata in BTVs database.

I tried scanning your "Movies" folder. When it does the search for that movie it doesn't lock up for me. It finds nothing and enables the Skip, Search box, and Search button so you can modify what it searched for. Let me know if that is not what you're seeing.

Starting off with:
[ ] Only Edit Unknown Movies
[X] Auto-Update When One..
[ ] Select movies to edit..
-Hit Scan-
Arrived at "Final Fantasy VII Advent Children (Dubbed).avi"
Skip button is enabled, Search button is enabled.
I hit Skip, parses Monsters vs Aliens.
I am now stuck on Processing (21/171): The Final Season.avi. No buttons enabled except Cancel. I hit Cancel and then X out the window.

Re: BTV Media Edit

With the installer, is there anyway to allow this to overwrite/uninstall previous versions? Each time I try to install a newer version (in Vista) I get an error that "Another version of this product is already installed..." and I need to uninstall. Just a minor annoyance.

Re: BTV Media Edit

Ok, got through my library. But one question. In the list of movies under Movies if I list by series, it shows "Movie name - Movie name". Is this suppose to be like this? Or in some cases, it shows: "The Matrix - Matrix, The".
