IMDb Movie Tagger Plugin for BTVShowInfo

Overview
A requested plugin for BTVShowInfo which uses a filename formatted as an IMDb ID or movie name and searches IMDb for the metadata. Also, it marks the show under the "Movies" series in BeyondTV.

It supports the following filenames:
tt0120737.[ext] (some IMDB ID)
[some movie].[ext]

and multi-disc movies in the same format as DVDLibrary does:
tt0120737-Disc[0-9].[ext]
[some movie]-Disc[0-9].[ext]
where it will append the description with the disc number

If the movie search has multiple results it will ask the user to select the movie. Usually with a well-formed search, the first movie found is the movie you want. If the movie search returns nothing, it will ask the user to manually enter the IMDb ID or movie name they are looking for. It will also require user interaction if some elements are not found, ie. the plot.

This plugin provides the Release Date as metadata so you can sort by Original Air Date in BeyondTV to see movies in the order that they were released or in Alphabetical order based on name.

For now, all shows tagged as "Movies" will have the "Movies - " predecessor to the name because of the way BTVShowInfo handles setting some fields. If the author can provide a fix, I will update the plugin so that it doesn't show that predecessor.

Installation
Extract the DLL file and copy to the Plugins directory of BTVShowInfo.

Usage
Highlight the row(s) that you want to search metadata for and then click the Plugins menu and select "Tag from IMDb as Movie".

I've never used BTV Link. How would it not work? Does BTV Link just look at the same library that your BTV server has? I'm curious now.

BTV link does use the same library as the BTV server.

I really like the plug-in - Thank you VERY MUCH! It is extremely useful and I have used it a lot. There is only one thing that is kinda a pain though. If the search comes up with a list of movies and non are the ones you want, then you have no option to manually search. i.e. I have a lot of files with periods instead of spaces. Hence for example Rocky.Balboa.avi returns a lot of the Rocky movies, but not Rocky Balboa. Unfortuately since it returns some possibilities, you must either use them or skip. Aside from changing the file name which is a pain, I don't know how to get by the problem.

I know what the problem is. I grab the name of the movie by splitting the file name apart from the extension when I encounter a '.' so with your movies, I'm only getting the part left of the first period. Let me work something out and I'll post an update ASAP.

See first post for update. Added support for multiple '.' (periods) in the file name. Tested it out with Rocky.Balboa.avi and it worked.

Bloody brilliant work here! I just finished tagging my whole library thanks to you

If you are looking for ideas to make this even more awesome, it would be nice if the filename was put into the the search field on the manual search. Not a criticism at all, but it would be a nice tweak to make it go a little faster when tagging a bunch of movies.

If you put the file name in the search field, does it find the right movie easier than you manually typing in the name?

I was thinking that it might help. Most times I would have just had to delete codec information from the file name for the search to find it.

The only change is that now the search field has the file name in by default.

Is it possible to have support for multiple '_' in the file name too? I have probably 200 ripped dvds with that type of naming convention...like
