BTVSmartie updated for 4.8.1

I hope this works.

It will log on under 'administrator' by default so it should log on just fine if you have not changed your users setup. If you have, you can add the registry key 'BTV_User' with the user name you want to use as the value in the same place as the other BTVSmartie keys.

Re: BTVSmartie updated for 4.8.1

Works AWESOME, did not want to update since this wasn't working but I updated yesterday and then this today was great.

Thanks
Mike

Re: BTVSmartie updated for 4.8.1

I'll try it as soon as I get home. My install is default so I assume it should go without a hitch.

Yes, all seems to work well, no tweaking required

Re: BTVSmartie updated for 4.8.1

Heads up, Jason thinks we may have an issue with scheduled standbys and btvsmartie because the new betas disable standby with web service activity, see the post, I'm trying to see if it is in fact the issue or if it can be adjusted.

Re: BTVSmartie updated for 4.8.1

It's possible that it's an issue with how BTVSmartie was written. I posted in the bug report to get Jason's direct input.

Re: BTVSmartie updated for 4.8.1

I've been able to get standby to work yesterday without turning off btvsmartie, so I'm not sure why it didn't work before. I suspect it might be related to a series of events, like guide update or action in viewscape, either way, I suspect it isn't btvsmartie, but let's see what Jason comes up with.

Re: BTVSmartie updated for 4.8.1

Just out of curiosity, what version of LCD Smartie are people using? I'm got 5.4 beta 3 on my system, and lately for some reason I've been getting a lot of crashes on it. It took my forever to figure out how to set it up, so I'm not too adventurous about upgrading to find out that nothing works!

Re: BTVSmartie updated for 4.8.1

I stuck with 5.3, the upgrade after that had issues for me for some reason, never bothered to change it.

Re: BTVSmartie updated for 4.8.1

Boy all of the sudden, I'm getting a crash every time I run LCD Smartie. It loads up, works for a little bit, then I get the 'needs to close' box from Microsoft. It's driving me nutty!

Re: BTVSmartie updated for 4.8.1

I had one error like that, but I've noticed it closed a lot for no reason, probably related to the new beta, Fonceur had some issues as well it seems

Re: BTVSmartie updated for 4.8.1

Well I was working fine prior to the new security scheme, then I tried this update for the new scheme and I'm getting crashes. I run Debugview 24/7 on all my machines (easier for beta testing!) so I'll see if it dumped anything.

Just a guess, but maybe the plugin is not using the Renew() method, so after 15 minutes the session expires...

Re: BTVSmartie updated for 4.8.1

BTVSmartie has been updated to renew the logon and not just re-logon. I did come across an issue the other day where I shutdown BTV and then LCDSmartie crashed. This may be related. I haven't had a chance to look into it further yet though. The problem is I'm going out of town Friday and don't know if I'll have time to look into it before then.

Re: BTVSmartie updated for 4.8.1

Well, beyond it occasionally turning off on me the current beta version seems to be working. Post any new versions you make here and I'll install when I see them.

On a side note, I hope SS will put up a sticky for all rebuilt plugins when they're ready to go gold. I've tried to catch the main plugin writers in the regular forum, looks like most are in the betas so that's a good sign.
