BTVSmartie updated for 4.8.1

Yeah unfortunately its completely dead for me. I get 15 minutes and a crash, every time. Is anyone successfully using this version of BTV Smartie with the 4.8.1 series?

I have been using this since the 4.8.1 update with LCDSmartie 5.4 and I have never had a single crash.

Hi,

I've installed the new BTVSmartie.dll and I'm using BTV 4.8.2, LCD Smartie isn't displaying anything (it was working fine with BTV 4.7.x).

The first post mentioned changing the registry, does anybody have more details - Which key do I edit or where do I add a new key?

Hello all. I'm new to this forum and hope this is the right place to ask this question. I'm trying to get BTVSmartie to work on my htpc. I started with 4.8.1 and BTVSmartie 5.1 and that worked perfectly. But I needed to update BeyondTV to 4.9 so I can record digital tv. But as soon as I went to 4.9, BTV Smartie stopped working. It gives an error: Logon Failed: Cannot find host. I did not make any config changes when I switched to 4.9, I merely installed the update. I have searched but cannot find anyone who is having a similar problem. Is there a new version of BTVSmartie for version 4.9? Is there a config change necessary to make this work? Incidentally I tried both 4.9.2.6323 and 4.9.1.6192 with LCDSmartie 5.4.

5.1 works fine for me, have you made the registry changes (added the password), not sure when that kicked in, but now btv needs a password to access webadmin as well as services. In the html page that is included with btvsmartie are instructions.

also I think this is the latest - [addon] BTVSmartie 5.0 (July 24 Update)

Thanks very much for the advice. I got BTV Smartie working with your help. I was going to add an admin password registry key to btv smartie. I started by trying to use the btv web admin page so I could set a password. That's when I found out that the web admin was not working! It had worked with btv version 4.8.1 and I had not tried it with 4.9.1. I finally traced this to not having .net frameworks 3.0 and 3.5 installed. I installed these then reinstalled BTV 4.9.1.6192 and LCD Smartie started working. I did not need to set a web admin password or a registry key for LCD Smartie. So at this point I have BTV Smartie working with the following versions:
BeyondTV 4.9.1, LCD Smartie 5.4 and BTV Smartie 5.1.
