Re: BTVShowInfo

Think I found a bug. My winzip automatically creates the folder name when it unzips with Brackets in it ([ and ]). I think this caused an error on opening. Changed the folder name and it worked right.

Thumbs up Re: BTVShowInfo

I just discovered this app today, and it's exactly what I needed. Thank you jmaver.

Regarding the posts a couple of weeks ago about columns: perhaps people who have edited their BTVShowInfoCols.xml files could post them here for others to use. Mine is attached (I hope!).

I have one feature request: a plug-in which would set a recording's BTV timestamp to be it's file's OS creation or last modified date and time.

Thanks again for a very useful app.

Re: BTVShowInfo

Ok, how does one put in th server, I am putting this on my btv machine, what do I need to enter for server and port? Do I need servers enabled in the webui? I assume with 4.6 (or 4.5) I don't need to enter a key

If it is installed locally then 127.0.0.1 and 8129 should work.

Re: BTVShowInfo

I would love to use this, but can seem to establish connection?
I am running beyond tv on my only computer, c drive.
Here's my settings:

Server: http://localhost:8129

Port:
80 (Verified this through Betyond TV's Web Server Settings via the Web Admin) The actual setting reads:
Port Forwarder: If you are not already running a web server on your computer, you may choose to have Beyond TV bind to port 80 and forward connections to the correct port...... (YES / NO) - I show YES.
Password: I left blank. Assuming this is in case you have your security settings turned on, also in Web Admin Advanced Settings.

I'm running Beyond TV Version 4.5, but there is still a license key field. I've tried filling in and also leaving blank. I still can not connect ??? Any suggestions?

Re: BTVShowInfo

I tired this today.

I really want to correct some spelling errors (some mine; some from the guide) in the displayed name (the name that shows up in BTV listings).

Changed the editable attribute in the XML.

Allowed me to change it in program but the change did not get to the file.

----

I sure wish I could change the displayed name for a "R" rated show with a kid rated name. (Guide was wrong.)

Guess I need to write up something.

-----

After changing 1 file all my programs are listed as "NEW."

bad form.

Re: BTVShowInfo

Perhaps my problem is in the way I'm doing things.

Sometimes I'll have a bunch of stuff thats all related I want to dump for viewing to BTV. (ie. a bittorrent of all the first doctor of the old doctor who)

before doing anything I see the field (sortable name r) is the same as the file name. (this is good)

So I set the Title (mass edit plugin) so all the shows show up under series as my title instead of being under "Unknown" (ie Doc Who - old)

That turns it green and (sortable name r) stays the same. When I hit save it gets changed to the same as the title.

end result is that all the shows now show up as its own series but they are all named the same. I can't tell from within BTV what file is what. Now I need to go back one by one and copy from the file name and put that in the ep title field to get the files to show up in BTV with info to tell them apart.

Am I using this wrong?

What I want is to be able to make a bunch of stuff show up as its own series and still be able to tell what file is what without having to edit each and every one separately.

that and the plugin for reordering but that part works great.

Perhaps a wildcard in the mass edit plugin that I could put in the title ep field that would just copy the file name. That would work.

Re: BTVShowInfo

First i want to say this app is great! Thanks so much! I'm using it to copy the metadata to a commercial-free copy of the tp file that i created using HDTVtoMPEG2, saving me GIGs of space!

One problem i'm running into though, well, two, but i can deal with the one. First, when i copy the metadata, and then view the show in BTV, it doesn't seem to associate the channel # with my xx-1 localized version. In other words, CBS is air channel 53, but it's 5-1 in my program guide. When i copy the metadata, the channel shows up as 53 and no longer 1051. Is adding some more columns to the xml file someghing that would fix this?

Second, When a show is a 2-part episode, and i copy the meta data, the '(1/2)' or '(2/2)' doesn't seem to be there anymore when viewing the shows in the recorded shows list. So now i have two episodes with the same exact name, but they're really part 1 and part 2 of the same episode. Is there a way to fix this? When i use the BTV admin to edit the original shows, i don't see anything that says it's a 1/2 or 2/2. How does BTV get that information?

Sorry, I am swamped at the moment. I will try to think about answers to your questions later this week.

Re: BTVShowInfo

I would desperately love the ability to sort multiple colums at the same time.

Re: BTVShowInfo

If John is using a stable sort algorithm (which I suspect), you should be able to sort the columns individually, in the reverse order that you'd like your multiple columns to be sorted. (Note: I haven't actually tried this...)

Re: BTVShowInfo

I finally got almost everything working well enough. Having documentation with the product would halp everyone.

Only problem now is that changing the "title" for .TP files does not work.
