Right, those versions are not compatible... Anything pre-BTV-Negociator 4.50 stopped working with BTV 4.8... So either grab the latest beta from the first message of this thread or the official release from the link in my signature... Sure, there's only been over a hundred release since the version you have, but...

Re: BTV Negociator - Alpha release

I was actually working off your personal website on tripod. 3.65 was actually listed as the lastest version, I will now update to 5.14b3 from the major thread.

Also what is the deal with "[addon] BTV Negociator (July 14 Update)" thread. I am confused how it relates to your major thread.

Thanks again,
Kevin

Right, I haven't updated that site in years...

That's probably the pre-BTV 4.8 version, where SnapStream broke the backward compatibility of the API, with the authentication...

Re: BTV Negociator - Alpha release

I started the thread "Max Shows" years ago and like to think I contributed to the existence of "Improved Max Shows" (Combined "Max Shows"/"Keep Until I delete it" Feature!). I have a few questions listed below.

1) I always imaged an Improved Max Shows feature that would run autonomously even for newly added recordings. It would kick into action if the user had set a record (ie. "Sienfield") with MAX_SHOWS=10 and specified "Keep until I delete". Basically that is all the information Negociator needs to understand that the user intends to record 10 shows and then stop recording until an episode is deleted. In theory the user would never have to configure/update Negociator for this feature! Given the current design you could add a AUTO manage checkbox which works as I described. Again the goal is to do everything with the remote control. I have waited years to get this feature so please consider the request.

2) What is the setting "Hours to Monitor" mean?

3) What was the primary need for creating "If all unwatched" Managed State.

Great Work!!!

Re: BTV Negociator - Alpha release

When I run negociator I get this message:

Sorry unable to connect to: localhost:8129/

I am running Windows XP

I can connect to web admin (localhost:8129)with no problem

I searched this thread and found a post about the same problem but there was no answer that applied to me.

Re: BTV Negociator - Alpha release

Try using the actual IP address of the PC rather than localhost

Re: BTV Negociator - Alpha release

I went to configuration and put my ip address in the BTV server box in place of localhost.

No change. It still pops up a message saying it can't connect.

Re: BTV Negociator - Alpha release

I have been using version 4.61b for quite some time and love it. It crashes every once in a while, but has been pretty stable. Today I wondered if you had done any updates, so I came back on here to check. I was happy to see you had and I downloaded the latest beta v5.14b. However, to my disappointment, you had removed the only functionality which I use every day:

In the Browser/Channel tab screen, you no longer have the column for Frequency and it does not highlight programs that are schedule to be recorded or have been recorded recently.

I know that there is a check box to filter out Recent and Scheduled recordings, but there is no indication on the screen for which those are when they are included.

Being able to see upcoming movies and which ones I've already marked to be recorded or have already recorded all on one screen helps me figure out which movies I need to schedule to be recorded.

I know there is another screen for Recordings Jobs, but that is too difficult to keep switching screens to see which ones I've already marked to be recorded and then doesn't show me which ones I need to record.

I hope you can add this functionality back so I can use the latest version. But, sadly for right now, I must stick to version 4.61b.

Thank you.

I think that when I decided to make the various lists more independent, to speed up the launch, I had to remove some cross-operations that could have failed based on timing. I will see if I can add those back, though I've been quite busy lately, so no promises...
