Streaming Live TV to a Pocket PC 2002

I know in the FAQs it says that Streaming Live TV to a Pocket PC device requires Pocket PC 2003 Media player...

However on my iPAQ 3650 (upgraded from PPC 2000->2002) it seems like it 'wants' to work, but when Media Player starts, it holds at "buffering".

I've played with a few settings to see if i can sneak around the ppc2003 issue.

Has anyone had any success? I'd like to see it I can tweak things before buying a new iPAQ (this wouldn't be the only reason to buy new - just speeds things up a bit).

what quality are you streaming with? for handhelds, it needs to be pretty low bandwidth to display more than a half-second's worth of video.

I've had no problem doing this but I have to say that the media player in ppc 2002 sucked. It was good in ppc2000 but they microsoft broke something in 2002 and now 2003 it works again. I had no problem viewing the low dsl setting in snapstream on my ppc 2002 devices. You may also want to start with the lowerst settings and work your way up, that way you can find out where the cutoff is. With windows mobile 2003 I'm able to view 700k streams without any problems.

Re: Streaming Live TV to a Pocket PC 2002

I've used my PPC 2003 and it works quite nicely except for the fact that it simply stops after about 15 minutes. Weird. Haven't had time to troubleshoot that yet.

I had a PPC 2002 but was unable to do anything. Well worth considering something like a Dell Axim with built in WIFI. I have an Axim 3I but I see that it has been superceded by a faster unit for about the same price. I think one should be able to get a 3I pretty cheap now...
