Feature Request or not?

Hello all,
I've been a long time lurker on the forums and a Beyond TV user for about the last 6 months. Finally getting around to registering for the forums...
The aspect ratio controls work great for me, especially with the new letterboxed friendly 4x3 on 16x9 setting. Is there a way for Beyond TV to remember aspect ratio settings on a per show basis? West Wing is letterboxed and zooms nicely with the aspect ratio changes, but I must manually change it for every recording (and change back to normal afterwards).

A second question, In PVS 3.3 my remote control replay and skip buttons paged up and down through the media list (Hauppage silver remote, bottom two buttons). With BTW 3.4, that no longer works. I looked at the irremote.ini file and couldn't find where those keys where defined any differently that before.

Has anyone else had this problem with their remote control? It used to work great. Those keys worked like a "page up/page down" in the media list. It sure made getting through all the files easier. I know the buttons are still mapped because they still work for skip forward/back during playback.

I can't say I ever noticed that because I always used the actual page up and page down keys. You know there are keys specifically for this right?

You must have a StreamZap, Excorism was complaining of the same thing, I will notify Rkuo of this problem, although a fix will not be available today or tomorrow, hopefully it will revert in behavior on the next release.

Thanks for the pointer. Brett, I got it going again, but I'm pretty sure something changed with the new software version. I mapped pageup and pagedown buttons on my remote and it works fine. I use the silver hauppauge remote. It used to page up and down with the replay and skip buttons (they are mapped as , and . in irremote as default). Those buttons are still mapped the same as before. I added pageup and pagedown mappings to a pair of the colored buttons and it works great. If anyone else needs to do this, be aware that the pageup and pagedown functions actually map to next and prior.

For example, in irremote.ini:

red=prior
blue=next

(I think that's it anyway, I'm at work. I'll check my config at home and if it's wrong I'll update this post).


On another topic completely, I've been playing around with ffdshow. I've read previous posts mentioning that Beyond TV doesn't allow for ffdshow. I agree that I can't get it work with mpeg 2 or wmv, but I turned on the ODS in ffdshow and it is doing resizing for me with avi playback. Just FYI.
