After trying to get the serial connection to work unsuccessfully I decided to call up my cable company, Adelphia's local support to ask if they have the serial port enabled, and if not, could they enable it for me. I even made it easier for the poor clueless woman by telling her I was hooking it up to my TiVo. I even had evidence to back that up. I wasn't even gonna try to explain what a HTPC or SnapStream was. In order to back up my compatibility claim I even told her about this web site:
http://customersupport.tivo.com/tivo...c/tv031120.htm
The woman claimed that TiVo had no clue and that the digital boxes were not compatible. She then asked me what Tivo was!!!! I asked to speak to someone that was technically knowledgeable and she said she had asked her supervisor. She then took my name and number and said she'd get back to me later, which I really doubt.
Anyway does anyone know an easier way to tell if my serial port on my DCT 2224 is on, or how to get in touch with someone that has a clue at Adelphia??
