Re: Welcome to the Couchville forums

Not too bad!

I like the new and favourites indicators.

Except the favourites isn't working properly. I think it's an issue with having a large number of shows tag as favourites. See error attached.

Re: Welcome to the Couchville forums

completely useless if I can't click to record the show, like snapstream.net

I'm supposed to look at couch to see when my show is on and then go to snapstream.net or my BTV guide to schedule the recording? Am I missing something?

From the help page:

Can I use Couchville with SnapStream's Beyond TV?
No, at the moment, Couchville and SnapStream's Beyond TV are entirely separate products and are not designed to work with one another. Eventually, we hope to extend Couchville to work with all brands of DVRs and TV devices.
I agree it should be integrated with BeyondTV - and integrating it will more PVR's would make it a more popular site. Some day possibly.
I think its one of those - gotta start somewhere things.

Re: Welcome to the Couchville forums

Yeah I agree the layout is good, but it doesn't do much more than a TV guide at this point. Integrating it with my BTV pc would make it VERY useful though if I could click to record something.

I'm trying to look into this problem.

Couple of questions:
1. What browser are you using?
2. How many favorites did you add?

Thanks

1. IE 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.050301-1526 update version SP1

2. Maybe 30 or so? Crazy eh? They all show marked as favourites in the guide but the error happens when adding more or trying to go to favourites.

Re: Welcome to the Couchville forums

Not bad! Faster than snapstream.net if I want to just look at a guide. No Yahoo or TV Guide stuff to deal with. It would be great to remotely setup a recording to your BTV server.

I'll need to play with it more. I am sure it will be an icon on all the computers at home.

Re: Welcome to the Couchville forums

Seriously, I'd like to have btv's guide be able to open info from couchville much like the dvd library plugin can do, except instead of having it try to match info from the show name, it uses the guide data to get the match. Then I'd go the next step and have search expanded so I can search by actor, genre, even keywords in the expanded description, and then have a spot where similar recomendations are made.

Now, while btv guide data gets downloaded (and it seems to take forever now, wtf?) this would require an active connection to access. Build this into btv, and then let the other pvr's build it in themselves.

Otherwise, I agree with the other comments, I don't see where this adds anything to the package that isn't already out there. And it definitely needs shortcuts like snapstream.net, maybe only available to registered btv customers.

Re: Welcome to the Couchville forums

The ability to add more than 1 lineup would be nice.

I have the East and West feed of Expressvu, but I can only see 1 feed at a time.

Re: Welcome to the Couchville forums

Definitely faster than JAM TV and easier to read. Plus the More episode/more series information/upcoming airings is better. I can get used to the *google maps* style navigation.

What it does need...

Let us assign order numbers to channels like JAM so I can group common channels.
Let us make other channel lists like I can in SS.net.
Let us schedule recordings like SS.net

Otherwise it's just another TV guide, al be it prettier though.
