If this is a feed you really like and check often, then I could make you a special screen for you. It wouldn't take me long to create a new page that lists the guests for each show. For example, you would choose this RSS feed then the first page it shows is a list of dates. When you select a date, it takes you to a new page that lists the talk shows. Then as you select the talk show and it would list the names at the bottom. You press exit to return to the date list. What do you think? In the meantime, here's a new style.css and RSSfeed.html files that makes the background silver for the details. It's a little easier to read. Maybe it will suffice. I created a new style called RSSdetails that defines how those RSS details are shown on that page.

Re: [addon] MediaMVP for BTV 4.8.1

Jack,

The first time, when I got error on line 181, I had not run setup but only extracted the files to the Hauppage folder. Then I ran the Setup and received the same error but now on line 161. My licence key is in the config file.

I'll see if I can get you a screen shot.

what next?

Joe

Re: [addon] MediaMVP for BTV 4.8.1

Can you confirm that your user_config.js file has the line:
var strAuthTicket = "";
and that it has correct BTV password, path and such.
From what listed so far, it sounds like the MediaMVP can't log in to your BTV server.

After applying the upgrade, I continually get the main screen then connecting to servers message (never ending loop)

user_config.js has var strAuthTicket = "j"

The MPV screen says error line 161 authorization error...

If I run on the BT server in visible mode I do not get the same error. I get error on line 1285. Error number 1072896748

Thanks, romanoj! I really appreciate your help. I think I'll just stick with the original style since it's what I'm used to. Here's what I did do though... I duplicated News.html and renamed it News2.html, where I replaced the yahoo news link with http://rssxpress.ukoln.ac.uk/lite/vi.../xml/today.xml. Then I added News2.html to Web.xml to see today's guests. Making the links white was no problem in the News2.html file.

I'm so grateful to be able to use the latest version of BTV and use MediaMVP to watch my recordings! Thanks again for all your hard work, romanoj!

It looks like Hauppauge firmware is more important than I thought. Many have had issues with version 3.3 and 3.4 and compability with this BTV skin. I recommend using Hauppauge firmware 3.2.24125. It has been very successful at working with this project and it provides all of the basic MVP functions like music and such.

You can download that firmware version at:

http://hauppauge.lightpath.net/softw...3.2.24125b.exe

If version 3.3 or 3.4 is that important to folks, I can look at making a special build for that.

Did you download the Beta 2a version and run the setup? I may need to send you a special test file. Are you available for instant messaging? We could try to nail down your particular issue one on one.

That would be great. Can we do that this evening?

Re: [addon] MediaMVP for BTV 4.8.1

All,

Looks like MediaMVP firmware version your using is very critical here. The only version that is 100% compatible with thi BTV 4.8.1 update is version 3.2.24125. Again, you can download it from http://hauppauge.lightpath.net/softw...3.2.24125b.exe.

Joe's install is now working. Just about everyone is in good shape. Therefore, I will press forward with the LiveTV and program guide update. Hopefully, I will have it worked out this weekend.

Yes the recordedshows are working fine. This version does have faster response time for retrieving the recoded shows list and transversing through the various Shows screens than the last version.

Thanks much Jack.

Blaze ahead Jack and we all look forward to your sucess with more advancments.

Joe

Re: [addon] MediaMVP for BTV 4.8.1

I made FS_Top_MediaMVP.png smaller. The previous one I made was too big and distracting. Sorry about that.

Re: [addon] MediaMVP for BTV 4.8.1

Before the MVPBTV upgrade, I had erased 95% of StarterBar.png (attached) making it invisible when I pause/RW/FF. For some reason, after the upgrade the Hauppauge logo and dark blue oblong are back and won't go away. I've checked the Hauppauge MediaMVP/image/English folder and both temp folders in Hauppauge MediaMVP/Users. They all show the picture below. But when I watch a recorded show on the MVP, the annoying Hauppauge logo version is what's displayed.

What image file is the OSD referencing if not StarterBar.png?
I checked to make sure it wasn't StarterBarPAL.png, since I edited it to show "PAL" next to the Hauppauge Logo in case that was what I was seeing on the MVP.

Should I edit something in OSDGraphicPositions.xml?
I tried changing "StarterBar.png" to "blank.png" that I found in the image folder. That didn't work either.

Code:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<Root>
 <GRAPHICPOSITIONS>
  <TitlePositionX>229</TitlePositionX>
  <TitlePositionY>748</TitlePositionY>
  <TitleFontSize>20.0</TitleFontSize>
  <TitleTextColorA>255</TitleTextColorA>
  <TitleTextColorR>255</TitleTextColorR>
  <TitleTextColorG>216</TitleTextColorG>
  <TitleTextColorB>0</TitleTextColorB>

  <DurationPositionX>575</DurationPositionX>
  <DurationPositionY>400</DurationPositionY>
  <DurationFontSize>18.0</DurationFontSize>

  <TimePositionX>229</TimePositionX>
  <TimePositionY>376</TimePositionY>

  <FontFamily>Tahoma</FontFamily>

  <ProgressBarStartX>229</ProgressBarStartX>
  <ProgressBarStartY>410</ProgressBarStartY>
  <ProgressBarWidth>10.0</ProgressBarWidth>
  <ProgressLength>330</ProgressLength>
  <ProgressBarColorA>255</ProgressBarColorA>
  <ProgressBarColorR>255</ProgressBarColorR>
  <ProgressBarColorG>216</ProgressBarColorG>
  <ProgressBarColorB>0</ProgressBarColorB>

  <PNGFilename>StarterBar.png</PNGFilename>
  <PNGPlayFilename>Play.png</PNGPlayFilename>
  <PNGPauseFilename>Pause.png</PNGPauseFilename>
  <PNGFFFilename>FF.png</PNGFFFilename>
  <PNGRWFilename>RW.png</PNGRWFilename>

  <PlayStateX>625</PlayStateX>
  <PlayStateY>350</PlayStateY>
 </GRAPHICPOSITIONS>
</Root>
I also moved TitlePositionY so that the title wouldn't show on the OSD. All I want to see is the progress bar and the pause/RW/FF images.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Re: [addon] MediaMVP for BTV 4.8.1

Great news folks. I found out why some people are getting white background error and are having trouble with Hauppauge Firmware version 3.3 and 3.4.!!!!

I have a fix for those wanting to use those firmware versions. Right now, it's not an elegant solution but it works. It has to do with the way Hauppauge ues its image directory. THEY CHANGED IT ON ME. What worked with previous firmware versions doesn't work with version 3.3 or 3.4. For the short term, I found if I hardcode the path name for image files, the BTV functions all worked great. (the part I coded so far anyhow)

So if someone is dying to use Hauppauge Firmware 3.3 or 3.4, I can tell you what you need to edit or I can create a special install for you. Let me know.

I will now work the other BTV screens so we could have the Program Guide and LiveTV back for firmware 3.2.

Also, I was planning to have a new LiveTV screen option where the system will prompt the user to enter a channel number (and press Okay), then it will jump to that channel. At least, that's the hope. I will still have the guide option to watch LiveTV as well.

That's it for now.
