BTV Mobile
Author: Pohket
Short Description: WM5 LiveTV Application Long Description: Windows Mobile Application built on .Net CF. This application uses the BeyondTV Web Services to create a LiveTV session on a selected interface. The application attempts to keep the connection alive and will reconnect should it fail repeatedly. This is the first iteration... As such there is plenty of polish that needs to be completed... Would like feedback on intended/requested features. Version Number: .0001 Status: Alpha Last Updated: Aug 12,2007 Homepage: None Installation Instructions: Install .Net CF 2.0 redistributable (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en) After that, execute the attached cab on the mobile device to install. Release Notes: Alpha .001: * Message Box used for debugging purposes * All calls are currently synchronous, not ideal, but functional * License: Requirements: .Net CompactFramework (2.0) Download BTVMobile Install.CAB |

Re: BTV Mobile
Anyone given this a try yet? Are there any screenshots or anything like that available?

At this iteration of the application, it simply creates a web session on the device selected, and maintains that connection in the background so you can stream LiveTV to Windows Media Player... The application also allows you to change the channel on the device. Changing channels is not automatic, it must be done through the 'change' button. The application pulls guide data to tell you what is currently playing on the tuner, as well as what is playing on the channel you have selected in the drop down (in the screenshot, 'Current' is FOX, 'Selected' is Comedy Central) Clicking on the Current/Selected links displays the description for that program There are no 'failsafe' checks, such as if the device selected is recording, the tuner should be locked, etc. They will be added in future iterations Hope this is useful to other people out there! |

Re: BTV Mobile
Hi!
I have downloaded your software and so far so good! I will be testing using a Hewlett-Packard iPaq hx2495 (windows mobile v5.0) I have one question - what port should I use? in my home wireless network, I have my PDA set as 192.168.1.101 and the desktop PC running Beyond TV is 192.168.1.105. I get an error connecting to devices. Otherwise, it looks to be a sharp install so far! keep up the good work.

Re: BTV Mobile
I'm trying to install this on a blackjack phone with WM5. I installed the .Net CF 2.0 first successfully and installed the BTV Mobile file, but when I try to run it I get "an unexpected error has occurred in BTVMobile.exe"
BTVMobile.exe TypeloadException Any ideas?

Yes, you will need a Smartphone version of the application... It turns out that Smartphones don't really use command buttons, so what you'll need to do is download the attached zip file, extract the .cab file, and execute the BTVMobile Install Smartphone5.cab Most of the buttons from the above screenshots will be located under 'Menu' |

Re: BTV Mobile
Sure - just needed a 'recompile' for that version...
I've attached it below in a zip file (since cab files cannot be attached)... |
