Thumbs up Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher

This is one of the best BTV add-on's there is, it's sweet having my podcasts show up in my Recorded TV folder.

Thanks.

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher

has something changed with dl.tv.

The shows are continuing to downlaod and play fine but about half the time the descriptions are missing.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher

Nothing has changed with my plug-in or with dl.TV I have been trying to figure this out and am working on it. I issues the call to BTV server to add the show description but info but the server does not accept the update

I just wanna say that this add-on is awsome! I used to have to manually download all my video podcasts and copy them over the network. This is an awesome timesaver! Great job!

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher

I wish the download manager in this program was a little more robust. Every time I try to download something from revision3.com (Diggnation, Systm, The Broken, etc.) it stalls and times out.

No.

I think part of the problem is that revision3.com really pushes the torrent links versus the conventional download links. Their servers are usually quite busy. Other vidcasts such as dl.tv downloads without problems.

I didn't mean to do a "drive-by complaint" ... It just seems as though Podcatcher doesn't try to resume downloads or even retry... if the link dies, Podcatcher gives up.

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher

the only revision3 one I download is InDigital. Its always worked great with podcatcher.

dltv on the other hand has issues. It downloads fine but almost never has the description properly. I think its the extra html code in the item.description field.

I don't know much about how the feed should look. Nor do I know what podcatcher is looking for but I spent a bit of time looking at the yahoo pipes stuff and managed to reformat the dltv feed and it seems to be work fine with podcatcher now.

Of course I only did it on the weekend so It only has downloaded Tuesdays show since then. If it continues to work for the next couple weeks, I'll post more.

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher

I have made a couple of changes to the program to fix these issue

Increased the time out time from 100000 to 1000000
When writing the description to btv it now removes html tags
Now it set the editiable tag to true and read only to false when writing the properities

I hope this fixes some of peoples issues

A newer version is in post 20 http://forums.snapstream.com/vb/show...7&postcount=20

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher

Yesterdays download worked again via the pipe but I'll download and use your new version as well as put the feed back to the original instead of using the pipe I created and we shall see next week what happens.

Thanks for the updated program.

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher

Hi,

This podcaster looks great but how can I get youtube videos to download to a format that BTV can view?

I would like to have the youtube most discussed and top downloads.

Thanks,

Joe

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher

I'm sorry but you tube videos are not supported in the BTV so you will have to use an external program that will convert the videos from flash videos to a format btv will read
