If it does not show the info then it is btv if it does then I will take a look when I get home

I got home tried the file and the issue is BTV will not write the information to the file it has to deal with the way it formatted

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher

Just on update on the REV3 feed issue I am working on a work around for the issue and should have something posted by the end of the day. This work around does have some security implications. To use this work around you will have to change a program setting to enable it. by default i will leave this setting off.

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher

The following update has a setting that will enable REV3 feeds to work while they have the improper HTML heading

To enable this work around you need to go to the features - program setup
then change the option set Unsafe Header Processing to yes and press the save settings button

Change this setting to yes does open up a small security risk so if you do not trust the source of you feeds I would recommend leaving the setting at no. If all your feeds are used by many people and come for site you would trust then it is ok to set this setting to yes.

I do not believe there is a big security risk because IE and Firefox both seam to not require the strict guidelines for websites headers - so it should be the same level of risk as surfing the internet.

If you like the technical details about this setting go to http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/lib...erparsing.aspx

Also in this version is a new program setting to set the downloaded files to be read only if the files are not read only btv might expire the videos according to the expiration manager

Update.. removed this file see current version in post 119

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher

The new version works great on the digg reel. As you suggested I tried to manually edit the properties of the video files and I WAS able to. The properties are now saved in for that file.

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher

I thought of a nice addition to this that might not be too difficult to add. A date/timestamp in the download manager so we know when that particular download ended. (or began). Excellent program. Works like a charm, love being able to watch these on my TV.

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher

Does anyone have issues with playback of Revision3 shows in BeyondTV? Fast Foward, Rewind and Pause usually causes the video to lock (not BTV3DShell) up. I have to then exit back to the library and start it again from the beginning.

I've seen that problem with the WMV version of several shows. I changed to the DivX or Xvid feed and they always work perfectly. I think (though I'm not sure) that the WMV weirdless is actually intentional, on the part of the encoder.

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher

I am not having any issues with rev3 I can pause just fine. What version of the feeds are you using ( if you are using xvid do you have the latest version of the codec found at xvid.org) also what are your playback settings (overlay vs 3d accelerated, deinterlacing) also do you have the latest graphics card driver

Probably try a diffrent playback settings or a diffrent type h.264 vs xvid and see if that works

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher

How to I make it so it downloads all of the items in the podcast from first setup? or later on?

Also the BTV integration is not letting me change it to yes, will it still integrate directly with BTV?

first make sure you are using the version posted about 8 responses ago (post 108)

To download episode that already exist after setup go to feed viewer select the feed in the drop down. Then select the episode you want to download the press the download current episode button.

Btv integration is disabled because the program can not find and with btv server check to be sure that all the program settings are correct and if you are btv 4.8 you need version 2 the one a couple of post ago if you are on a old version of btv you need an old version look in the thread for old version

Right before you replied i found the new version, and that one now connects to BTV.

The problem i have now is having it download all items right after I set it up.

I see their is a setting drop down box, that says "Items Not already found in feed by file name" does this mean is should download what I don't have on my hard disk?

I just want it to download all, and it would be nice if I could use the Feed viewer to selects what ones I want, then hit the download items button.

Greg

Ok here is some notes on the Podcatcher when you are in setup and press save the feed you were editing or adding will update the feed but it will not download any files it needs a baseline to start from.

Currently there is no way to download all episodes in a feed you can only go one by one. I have the request already to be able to download multiple items in the feed viewer but I have yet to add this to the program and I am not sure if this will be ready when I make the next update (this update will come in the next couple of weeks) The items that I have been working on in this update is fixing some of the issues when the properties are not written out the properties BTV

The option you are changing in feed setup is how the Podcatcher determines if an episode is new. Then new episodes are downloaded. if the RSS file is properly formated I would start with the GUID setting. If you then are having issues with the feed and dowloading the episodes I would then change this setting.
For example on maholo daily h.264 (itunes feed) they publish a mov file in the middle of the night and then when the h.264 file is reneder it will then change the file name to point to the h.264 file (m4v) for this feed I use the filename setting to make sure to get the

You can look at the help document in the program for more information about all the diffrent feed setup settings. Note that there are some areas in the help that are not finished and due to the fact that I lost my laptop hard drive and I have to rewrite the complete RTF document that the help file was complied from before I can make any changes.

Update.. I will have the ability to download multiple items in the feed viewer in the next version of the application

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher

This update fixes a couple of issues with shows and properties not being written to the files. (mainly filter out some of the existing properties and do not include them when writing the info to BTV also change the ’ to ' as BTV does not like the ’)

I have also included the ability to try to rewrite the Media info to BTV in the download view (right click on a file that has finished downloaded or had an error writing to BTV to view this option)

I also added the ability to download multiple items from the feed viewer at one time. To do this open up the feed viewer then on the feed items tab you will need to select the items you want to download to select multiple items hold down the ctrl key and and click on the items in the grid you want to download you can also click on the first item and then hold down the shift key and click on the last item and all the item in between will be selected (just the same way that you can select multiple files in windows explore) then click the button to download current feed item (note you can not use the right click to view the pop up menu to download multiple items this will still just download one item)
Attached Files
File Type: zip BTVPodcatcher.zip (1.67 MB, 71 views)

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher

I tried the new one, nice to be able to click on a few episodes at once and download them!

Is there a log file, I am seeing errors pop up like "no file to download" that appears to stop all downloads till I click enter. I want to figure out which feed is having the issue so I can remove that one if it keeps happening. Also, is there a way to ignore that dialog box after a while and keep going? I don't get on the console of my btv server all that often. Tks! Bill
