Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher
I've been getting a lot of "Cannot download file" errors with the new BTV Podcatcher and BTV 4.8. Clicking OK only results in another popup with the same error. My only recourse is to shut down BTV Podcatcher and relaunch it. This has been happening every few days.

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher
Very Cool program!
I did a search on "pool" in this thread and didn't find it so I will ask this question. When I setup a new feed I default to "pool", (where my shows go by default) but it won't let me save that feed unless I change the Save Files to a drive and directory. Should "pool" work? Again, very cool! -Bill

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher
I don't think it tells me what the problem feed is. Is there a way to find this out?

you might look for a podcast that puts together the top youtube and other internet video together something like the digg reel http://revision3.com/diggreel/ Quote:

The name of the feed may be in the bottom left corner next to the progress bar it will say "Updating <Name of feed>" if that does not work here is a work around to get the program started Edit the BTVPodCatcherConfig2.xml change your start time and end time values to this <startTime>00:00:59</startTime><endTime>00:01:00</endTime> this will then cause when you open up the program (given that it is not 12:00:59 am) for to skip the updating feeds then you can open up the feed viewer and go through each feed and click on the refresh current feed this will only update the feed you are on. this will help you figure out which feed the error is occurring on. a thing that may temporary work once you know which feed is causing the issue is go into feed setup edit that feed and then press save (you do not need to change any value) this will cause the program to update that feedinfo file with all the current detail from the internet about the feed and then any of the old items in the feed will not try to download. - This may not fix anything. also I looked through all of the code and the only two pop up message box that can occur are "No File to Download", or "Error with filename or download URL". these two errors both deals with errors I mentioned earlier.

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher
I went through the help and had a couple of questions.
It appears that after I setup the feeds, I must go into the viewer to individually download each podcast I want. There is no way to select all of the podcasts that I can find to download them with one or two clicks. Also, is there a way to schedule them to automatically download all. I saw an entry in the feed that made me think it already did this, but I waited overnight and only the specific podcasts I clicked download on have been downloaded. VERY COOL PROGRAM! They should integrate this into BTV!! -Bill

It will download new episodes when they are published - if you have the setting for this on. The setting is download new episodes on. And the options are GUID, filename or date. There are 2 ways to turn this off one is set the download on option to do not download or you can set the max number to download to none Most podcast will work on the GUID option. You probaby did not see any new episodes download because no episodes were put out between the time you setup you feeds and now. To test this subscribe to a daily podcast like tekzilla daily at revision3.com ( I can't paste the URL since I'm on my phone) and tommorow you will get a new episode when it is published

When I was developing the current version of BTV Podcatacher I thought long and hard about adding this function. I do have some automatic file extensions changes occurring (divx to avi and xvid to avi) Not all mov files can change the extension to m4v or mp4 (both acceptable h264 extesnion) will play. in fact most mov I found do not work. This includes the HD feeds for revision3 they say they are h.264 but the ones I have tried do not work. Since I could not find a feed that would need this functionality I left it out. I would recommend subscribing to the large xvid or large quicktime feeds (which does have the m4v extension)

Is this updated anymore? I can't get any Feeds to work. I even installed the latest Debuger version and this error shows up in the console:
