Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher
Actually, deleting and re-adding it seems to have solved it.

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher
I will still test it when I get home in the new version but with the complete change of the backend it should not have any problem adding or dowloading and I am pretty sure it will add the media information. There is a new user setting with the delay time before writing the media information to btv (most of the time when the media information is not added is because the btv has not found the file yet)

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher
BTV PodCatcher RULES!
![]() PodCatcher has been working great for the last couple of months. But, I just did 'the weekly' windows update and now it won't run. Trying to start the program caused a windows error to appear. Running on XP with version 4.6 of BTV. I removed the BTVPodCatcherConfig.xml and FeedInfo.bpc from the directory and then PodCatcher will start up with no feeds configured. As soon as I tried to add a feed (revision 3 - systm) it had a .NET error (null ref): http://revision3.com/systm/feed/xvid-large UPDATE - It seems that revision 3 is currently down. I added Cranky Geeks and CommandN with no problems. I think that if the service is down then a minor bug in the version of PodCatcher (V 1.2.3.1) that I'm running. Please keep up the good work! Any suggestions? Thanks Derek Part of the Error message: See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box. ************** Exception Text ************** System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at RSSLibrary2.RSSMain.loadRSS(Boolean fistRun) at RSSLibrary2.RSSMain..ctor(String url, String SaveLocation, Int32 numberToDownload, Boolean BTVintergration) at RSS_Reader.Setup.button1_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e)

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher
Here is an updated version of the BTV Podcatcher for BTV 4.8.1
Please note that you will have to have BTV version >=4.8.1 due to the changes in the security / login procedures; to have this version add the media information Due to rapid pace of the development of this version and the fact that I rewrote the complete back end and how the data is store and the fact I have been extremely busy I did not have the time to make this version read the old feed file or settings file. Because of this you will need to setup the program and your feeds again once you install this version. So please take note of all your feeds before you install the new version as you will not be able to see this information after you install the update. Also due to a hard drive issue the help file included is correct but has a couple of items that are not finished yet, mainly some of the screen shots are not updated. Also there has been a couple of new option in the program setup form that are not mention in the help. There is several new features most of them have to deal with Setup options for the program or feeds. You now have more options on when to automatically download new episodes. There is also more program options to control when thing happens. The feed view has completely change to provide more information to the user. If you have any questions or problems please post them and I will take a look to see how I can fix them One other change is where the settings file are located. The files are now saved to the program data directory (on vista C:\ProgramData\BTVPodcatcher2 on XP C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BTVPodcatcher2 the files BTVPodCatcherConfig2.xml is program settings and FeedInfo2.bpc is the feed settings ) To install or update the version all you need to do is to run the The help on how to use the program is now included in the application just look at the help from the menu bar EDIT... I just replaced the zip file in this post that has a legacy compression on it to help people who where having issues extracting the file Edit I have updated the version in the following post so i removed the attachment for the old version http://forums.snapstream.com/vb/show...1&postcount=72

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher
I've tried Winzip 9 and Winrar but I cannot extract files from this archive. In all cases I get the following error message:
The compression method used for this file is 98. Is this file compressed using some bizarre Winzip 11 only format instead of a standard compatible ZIP file compression method? |

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher
I Just Replaced the zip file in mt previous post with one that has a legacy compression on it Hopefully that will help any issues you might have extracting it

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher
I'm having trouble with the new version of BTV Podcatcher. I just downloaded and install BTV 4.8.1, backed up all my RSS feeds, and installed the new BTV Podcatcher over the old version that I had.
I have the program set up correctly (from what I can tell), but no matter what I do, it won't turn on "Beyond TV Integration". This is greyed out and every RSS feed that I put in has an error that says "Error with feed". I'm just using all the default settings and I don't have security turned on, in BTV. I've tried the same RSS feeds that are in the help file. I've checked my firewall settings (though that shouldn't matter, since it is on the same local machine.) I've tried uninstalling BTV Podcatcher, deleting directory contents and reinstalling. I get the same results.

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher
Quote:
Do you have any local firewall programs installed like zone alarm and are you having problems accessing anything in internet explore. if you do have a firewall that is bidirectional make sure you allow btv podcatcher to access the internet and local web pages It sound like the program can not access anything through the network this includes the btv web services or any feed. Also if that does not fix it tell me what the description say next to one of the feeds that say error with feed

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher
I don't have any firewall except the standard Windows firewall. On that, I opened a port to 8129, even though this shouldn't be necessary.
I can pull up the BTV Web Admin just fine via Firefox or IE 7. When I add a feed, the Title says "Error with feed" and the Description says "Configuration system failed to initialize"

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher
That interesting let try this
close the BTV Podcatacher Go into where the program is installed "C:\Program Files\BTV Podcatcher" and delete the following file BTVPodcatcher2.exe.config then re launch the application and see if it will work now

Re: [addon] BTV Podcatcher
I've got the same problem. But the soln above has not worked for me.
Same "error with feed" and "Configuration system failed to initialize". Same in that it does not see BTV and so grays out "Beyond TV Integration". The new BTV seems to be working perfect. Nor is there any issues accessing the web admin.
