Re: [addon] BTVSkinSelector

If this works with all of the supported skins, this will be a very popular addon and something we've needed for BTV. I wonder if something similar could be done for Beyond Media.

Re: [addon] BTVSkinSelector

Damn, good work. About time someone came up with this!!! I'm going try this out tonight. I hate upgrading to the latest and then my skin disappears. Looks like this would make it easier for me to change it back.

Re: [addon] BTVSkinSelector

Same here. Now, not all skins have all the files, some just reuse components from the default skin. Am I able to just unzip the skins and it will use whatever is missing from default, or should I copy the skins on top of the default and then save in a folder?

Re: [addon] BTVSkinSelector

Thanks everyone,

It doesn't work quite right yet with a skin who's developer didn't put the image files into an Images folder in the skin folder. I haven't come up with the solution for that yet, but when I come up with a solution I will post it.

Brian

Re: [addon] BTVSkinSelector

You should create a Skins folder in the C:\Program Files\Snapstream Media folder. Unzip all of your skins into this directory and the program will read the skins from there. As long as the image files are in the root of the skin folder or are in the Images folder like the original skin, it will work perfectly. In my setup, GreenMetal BTV4 and CrispCurves aren't setup correctly and load properly.

Re: [addon] BTVSkinSelector

Ok, tried this and it wiped images off my program, had to manually replace that. My skins are in their named files, so C:\Program Files\SnapStream Media\Skins\biometrics\ is where the files are, should I have a separate directory called images under the name?

Re: [addon] BTVSkinSelector

Ok, I was right with my original statement. You need to apply your skins individually first, then copy them to the skins directory (otherwise you lose files) and then you can apply them. This program deletes old files in the images directory, so if you don't you can end up with a lot of missing pictures.

Yes, as you always would when applying a skin, you need to backup your original skin images. I usually just dump them into a skin folder called skins.

You don't have to have the Images folder in the skin directory. The program will look in the the biometrics\images folder first and if that doesn't exist it will look in the root of the biometrics folder.

Re: [addon] BTVSkinSelector

Ok, so what I would do is make a folder in skins called default, then copy the default skin into that folder (or an image sub folder). Then for every skin I want to add, I would make a new folder with that skin's name, copy the default files in there and then cut/paste the new skin stuff on top of that. Every time I use skin selector, it wipes all the info in the images folder (and all stuff underneath it) and replaces it with what is in the new folder.

I say all this as questions I guess. I'll be reinstalling soon so I'll try to clean this all up and test.
