Re: [addon] BTVSkinSelector (May 26 Update)
Ok, I have done some debugging and tested myself and I think I have all the kinks worked out.
First, let me explain how the program works. 1. If in background mode, it will look for background_sml.png in [Program Files]\Snapstream Media\Skins\[Skin Name]\Images. If the Images folder does not exist, it looks for the background_sml.png file in the root of the [Skin Name] folder. 2. If in background mode, it looks for Preview.jpg in the root of the [Skin Name] folder. If the Preview.jpg file does not exist, it will use the background_sml.png file instead. About the installers...The All Skins installer includes a preview of the home screen for all screens listed except Original. The basic installer includes only the Original skin. Here are the installers Basic - http://www.mediafire.com/?4y4bd1zyu0m All Skins - http://www.mediafire.com/?ebdxsykczmr ALL of the previous links for the installers should be broken.

Re: [addon] BTVSkinSelector (May 26 Update)
Eureka! Just installed and this version does indeed work as described. I don't have the time this morning to test switching from one skin to another, but the previews are indeed working.
Thanks again for taking the time to upgrade this app. I'm sure you spent a little more time than originally planned. Thanks again.

Re: [addon] BTVSkinSelector (May 26 Update)
Ok, just found a bug in the program...the program closes without copying the skin files. I have fixed the bug and reuploaded the installers.
Basic setup - http://www.mediafire.com/?cbdstbz4so5 All Skins - http://www.mediafire.com/?adgpmjzdv4y Sorry about that ![]() Merry Christmas

Re: [addon] BTVSkinSelector (May 26 Update)
Thanks for the update again. I am using this new update now and it seems fine.
3 Suggestions to you please... 1.) I would like to be able in the options page to select the "Link mode" of BTV server. I know I am not the only one who has a BTV server running as link using the /networkclient:true command line. This option page would need to not change the "exclusive" or "windowed" options but instead add to a seperate permanent check box option. And if you went that far, the "true" option could be replaced with an actual computer name or IP address optional manual entry box. Examples are such /networkclient:192.168.1.102 or /networkclient:servertv1 Either that or on the front when selecting "Copy Files" it does not actually start BTV would be OK. You could even add another button for "Start BTV" or "Start BTV in Link Mode" 2.) Can you add a shortcut keystroke ("Ctrl + F" or whatever you like) to the "Copy Files" button so I can use my Firefly remote to browse and activate the program? (and if you wanted to, any other option keys or tabs) 3.) Also, it was mentioned that some skins have sounds also. How hard would it be to replace the sounds also in the program? Maybe just copy the sounds folder also and if no sounds then use the default sounds folder, or just copy the default sounds folder into every skin folder that has no special sounds. Thank you so much again for this wonderful program. Last edited by p0rky9; 12-24-2007 at 10:57 AM. |

EP, I have not experienced the issue you describe. The target directory should always be [Program Files]\SnapStream Media\{Beyond TV} or {Beyond TV Link}\FSMedia\Images. This is hardcoded into the software. As for the headers in BTV3 skins, that is up to the skin maker. red

Re: [addon] BTVSkinSelector (May 26 Update)
Any chance of adding the /networkclient:true option for BTV Server in Link mode or also including the "Sounds" folder in your copy command?
Thanks again, I really like this program. |

Yes, your suggestions are possible, but I will not have time to look at it for at least a week. I'll post the new links as soon as the update is available.

Any way to have the program remember window sizing or even lock proportions on the preview? My previews are being squished when I start the program and it does not remember my last window position or size. I have to stretch the window each time I restart. |

Re: [addon] BTVSkinSelector QUESTION
redsaturn99 -
I have never used a skin, or any add-on in BTV before. I notice on the 1st page of this skin forum, there is "Download Install_BTVSkinSelector.msi installer", but as the forum progresses, the file download name changes to an .exe. NOW my question - are we suppose to install the newest .exe NOT the .msi, and which is preferable, the Basic setup, or the All Skins. I downloaded both of the newer ones. I also want to make sure of the correct download dir. as I see that it tries to download to - C:\Program Files\BTVSkinSelector\ So is it the above, or C:\Program Files\SnapStream Media\Beyond TV\FSMedia\Images ???? Thank you, and sorry for the 20 questions LOL! |

The BTVSkinSelector program installs to C:\Program Files\BTVSkinSelector\ and the current BTV Skin is located in C:\Program Files\SnapStream Media\Beyond TV\FSMedia\Images. I provided the Basic setup for those that already have their own set of skins that they like. The skins are all available for download in the forums. Use whichever version you prefer. Red
