I am having the same problem that nanook and cfaslave had in this post.

I tried the fix, but it says unable to locate. Also rgsvr.exe did not run at all, but rgsvr32 did.

Did you include the quotes? - exactly type in the following:

regsvr32 "c:\program files\Hauppauge MediaMVP\MVPMedHelp.dll"

Yes. Does regsvr require a command like \c or one of the other choices? I found the file in correct directory is there a way to right click on it and choose a program to open it?

did you install the skin to c:\program files\hauppauge mediamvp\ ?

If not, adjust the regsvr32 statement to the directory you did install it to.

I just moved my MediaMVP (with the BTV skin) from the basement where I was testing it - up to the master bedroom. My experience thus far has been so good that I think it will pass the WAF test with flying colors. I'm going to "test" it up there and see how the wife likes it. Right now we actually have a TimeWarner DVR box in the MBR for the wife. She records many of the same shows on the DVR box as we do on the main BTV server. I plan to ween her off of the DVR box completely after I add another tuner - you know three SD tuners and one HD tuner just isn't enough

i'm having trouble with the BTV/MVP store thing..

the MVP is hooked to my server
I have a seperate BTV box

i set it to 1 for enable store

var enableStoreRelocation = 1;
var storeLength = 1;
var storeBTV = new Array("I:/pvs/shows");
var storeMVP = new Array("I:/pvs/shows");

the path to the files on the btv box is
I:\pvs\shows\ (all,me,wife) (3 sub folders under shows)

i mapped the same exact path on the server
i: is mapped to \\btvbox\i$

so if i wanted to watch star trek which is a "me" show
it is found in i:\pvs\shows\me\startrek.mpg
the path would be the same on the server
i:\pvs\shows\me\startrek.mpg

i mapped the same drive/path on the mvp server for ease of understanding.

but no matter what i do, it always says "could not open media"
it plays videos (other media files) fine from other menu's
so it's playing media

any suggestions would be apprechiated.

I have the same problem - I thought it was just me, but I've actually installed this on two different servers (one upgrade and the other from scratch) with the same result

Don't use local-drive-letter references to "I:\ ...", even though you've got them mapped. The BTV skin likes UNC references, so use "\\btvbox\pvs\shows" instead.

i tried every combo i could think of
still says "Could not open media"

anyone know of a way to turn on a debug or something so i can see what it's trying to do?

or any other suggestions?

Okay dumb question here. I've got 2 tuners in my setup. If i add an MVP in the bedroom and watch live tv with it and say the BTV is recording another channel at the same time, what happens when someone in the living room wants to watch a third channel?

How does BTV cope with the fact that its dishing out its only free tuner to the MVP? Does it prompt you that someone is watching the channel?

It might be related to an access priviledge problem where you have to give MediaMVP service priviledge. Can you see the folder and filenames? If not, try it in the PC window MVP screen.

good thought, but i added the directory to the "videos" folder using the mvp tool..
so when i scroll down the main menu, and go into videos i can see and play all the shows just fine.
when i use the "recorded shows" menu item (with all the btv data - which is does get just fine) i click play now and that is when it gives the message.

I have this same exact issue. I installed the base driver/software, tested videos and they work fine. When I try to watch records shows after installing the mod I get the could not open media error. I installed/tried it on two different servers, installed with server and link licenses, etc. Not sure what to try next. BTW, it was working fine with the 3.X mod

Probably not related, but I thought I would throw this out there. Blitzkrg and nanook, are you using IE7? I think there are some having issues with MVP & IE7. IE6 seems to work fine.
