The update are already incremental, that's only old shows that are discarded.

I lose old listings from the guide(everything from before the import was run) and I still sometimes like to refer to these.
I could try but as BTV is expecting a full update, I don't know if this is possible, neither desirable.

Stéphane.

This is BTV's fault, they have changed something in the way the Guide Updater loads data breaking XMLTV imports (as far as I know it is something related to BTV expecting compressed data instead of regular XML files).

You'll have to wait for another Beta to play with.

Regards,
Stéphane.

This errors means that the BTV object needed for the update cannot be found on your system.

Do you have installed BTV multiple times, and especially going from a newer version to an older one (downgrading)?

What version of BTV are you running now?

The only issue to this kind of problem is reinstalling BTV and preferabily reinstalling the newer version that's already been installed (And if this does not work we will see what to do then to correctly register the missing object).

Regards,
Stéphane.

Thanks for replying so fast :-).

I have made a "fresh" install of Windows XP and all the applications. And it's the latest version of BeyondTV (and I have installed the latest SP for .NET 1.1 :-)

--Jabadabado-- (Which have used your incredible importer without any problems for the last year :-) (eh.. one another computer)

BTW: Beyond TV Version 3.5.3 (Build 2127)

Ok, the CLSID is referring to the update object of BTV 3.4. So the Importer is guessing that you have BTV 3.4 installed. Are you running the latest version of the Importer? You need version 3.2 of the importer for BTV 3.5.3.

If you are running the last version, the Importer tries to guess your Beyond TV version by looking at:

* The registry (HKLM\Software\Snapstream Media\Beyond TV\BuildNumber)
* The build number of BTVAgent.exe / BTVAgent2.exe
* The build number of PVSGuideUpdaterService.exe

For BTV 3.5.3 this is the registry check that must returns the good build number. If your build number is over 1342 for the Importer you run BTV 3.5, 3.4.x otherwise.

Regards,
Stéphane.

Re: [plugin] XMLTV Importer

Hi,

I had recently upgraded my BTV to 3.5.3 and switch to using the XMLTV Importer v 3.2

I was able to run the importer program but when I go to the program guide it did not show the updated program list. It was still in the version prior to my upgrade.

I have checked on the xmltv file it shows that it had retrieve the correct listing and dated till 25 June but upon import the program guide only show listing till 21 June, ie "You have 3 days left of TV Listing data"

Below is my log file.
[6/18/2005 12:02:15] Guide Update started.

Any advise?

Re: [plugin] XMLTV Importer

Hi All,

Solved my own problem!

It was placed in the wrong directory. Somehow the new importer kinda set the default location wrongly.

Thanks!

Can you give me some details on this one. Does the Importer has changed your previous settings. When you update the importer it should keep all your settings. if it can't find a particular settings, then it will choose the known default one.

What was the wrong location in your case, and what it should have been ?

Regards,
Stéphane.

Re: [plugin] XMLTV Importer

Hi Stéphane,

When I'm using your importer should I then be able to use the "Search by Title" feature of Beyond TV. I get no results when performing a search.
As a note the import is successful and the guide data is accessible in the "SnapStream.NET Program Guide".

Did I setup something incorrectly?

Regards,
Brian

Yes you should be able to search by title / keywords. Please verify that you don't have any unused lineups (in WebAdmin http://localhost:8129, Settings --> Channels). Especially one with no channel name / callsign.

Regards,
Stéphane.
